I need opinions...

FH just called me and said that he heard our wedding song on the radio (Heaven by DJSammy candelight mix) being done as a 9/11 tribute song with little kids talking about the people they lost, This is so sad. I don't know if we shouldn't use it now because I know that for most of us that day was so sad and tragic and now I don't now if people will get upset if we use it at the wedding. I just don't want people get upset... This have been our song since we first started dating..IDK what to do any opinions?

I don't think I would use it-
but then again I shy FAR away from anything 9-11 related.
My dad got sick from working down there and we lost him to cancer back in '05
I'm having a REALLY hard time this weekend and I can't even get out of bed today.
I would never want anyone to associate my love with or even THINK of 9-11 at our wedding-
but that's just me- I'm too close for comfort.

It was your song before you realized that it was being used for this... I say you should keep it, I haven't even heard the song with the kids voices and would hve no idea.

ITA - its 'your' song ; I say go with it..its meaningful to you so you should keep it

I was just reading about this song online earlier and apparently it was released awhile back with just the first part of the child's life and now they edited it to add in the 10 years later part. Most people don't really remember it from then and sadly in a few months probably won't really remember this version either. I think you should stick with it. A friend of mine recently used it to walk down the aisle to and it was beautiful.

ITA with this. Most people won't remember this version in 3 months from now when you get married. Sad but true.

I say if it's your song then stick with it.

Some people pick 'Tears in Heaven' as their wedding song and to me that reminds me of my dead boyfriend from high school, so it affects me personally, but no one else. Just do what makes you happy it's YOUR day.

People also picked 'Lips of an Angel' which was all about cheating on the one you were with to go back to your old girlfriend

Ditto, I've never heard it and I wouldn't worry about it its your song and better to have a happy occasion associated with it.

I would go with my heart... you and your FH probably have other songs...if it gives you any negative feelings i would change it... you want your song to be memorable... and not have to associate your wedding with a sad day...however if this song does not make you feel sad go with it!! ITS YOUR DAY ...!!!

Thank you all ladies so very much....I think we are going to keep it...It has been our song for 12 years and dancing to anything else at our wedding would just be weird. I just hope noone gets upset...
