Would you be ****ed at this? I have 8 people in my bridal party- 2 MOH's and 6 BM. 2 of the BM's (cousins) are giving me alot of problems about coming to order their dresses. They are both mothers of little kids so I know it's difficult. I told them if it makes it easier on them they can bring their kids and my mom volunteered to watch them. I sent out an e-mail about a month ago asking everyone if March 8th was good for us all to meet in NYC (a convienent location since some are from LI, Staten Island and NJ) and order the dresses. They all said it was fine. At that point I hadn't picked out the exact dress but was deciding between a few. I wanted to go with one of the 2 who is on the heavier side before hand so she can tell me which one she felt most confortable in. Well it was hard to get together since they are so busy and I couldn't wait so I picked out a dress I thought would be good and e-mailed it to everyone. No responses!
So after calling to see if they were coming, my 2 cousins tell me that since I have already picked out the dress, there is no need for them to come and they will just give me their measurements. I tell them that I would rather them there because if the dress does not look good on someone we might switch it and I would like them to be there. Esp. my cousin who is heavier since I am trying to be sensitive to her needs. Do I make a big deal of this? Would you be mad? SOrry this is so LONG! HELP!

I would definitely tell them that they are acting very shi**y, and that they need to pull their acts together & show some support w/something that is not rocket science!!!!!!!!!

OF COURSE I WOULD BE P*$$ED!!!
I don't understand how some people can accept a responsibility like being in a Bridal Party and then when it's comes down to it, it's like they don't even care.
If they decide that the dress is fine and they would not be uncomfortable in it (especially the heavier one) I wouldn't make a huge deal out of it and just keep it as that's the dress. However, I'd tell them that you'd prefer they get measured at the same place as everyone to ensure everyone is measured the same... Were you planning a day of it? Like lunch or something this way your BM's can meet and get to know one another? If that's the case, I'd mention that to them too!
Good luck! I hope it works out for ya!

if they don't want to come then don't force them. just let them know that then they have absolutely no say in the dress. and if they don't like it when it comes in, tough luck. then they are either out of the bp or they suffer in the dress. there's just not enough time in the day to worry about every stupid little thing people do.

Thanks girls. Yes we were planning to make a day out of it- going to lunch after. But one already told me she has a 1st birthday party so that's fine. I think my heavier cousin is just embarassed to get fitted with everyone there which I do understand but it's not anyone will even be in the same room as her or they will announce her dress size. I just wanted us all to get together and have a fun day- I guess that can't happen!

Sometimes when you are trying to be nice to people they turn mean o indifferent on you! Hey, you showed yourself to be a sensitive and considerate bride, and if someone ends up looking like a cow because they were too lazy to take a trip to the city and pick a dress that makes them look good, then they have only themselves to blame! Don’t sweat it! Just make sure you look gorgeous! That’s more important!

I say don't make a big deal of it, and don't get mad. You are trying to a nice thing for them, and if they don't want to accept your gesture so be it. Pick the dress you like best, and thats it. Forcing them to go isn't going to be any fun for you.
