i need opinions/advice about photographers **UPDATED**

so this week i saw patken, velvet, and duet...they were all very nice but when i went to velvet i got that 'special' feeling i guess you can say..i thought there pics and video came out great..i loved the albums they offered and their mini album..and the price was even a tiny bit better then the others..not to mention that if you pay cash you dont have to pay tax which def saves even more money..the package i got quoted for was an album with 90pics, the mini book, 1 11x 14, 2 8x10, 2 photographers, every proof, and all of them on a cd, engagement session also on cd, a video guy, 3 edited dvds, and raw coverage for 4295

now patken only did engagement pics in the studio (and i wanted real outside pics prob the beach) and they gave a cd for ur wedding but now till 6months after

duet- i wasnt overly in love with the video they showed me..pics were beautiful but the video didnt impress me that much

Next week i have appointments with perceptions, 12th night and taylor studios...now i know everyone has their own style of what they like and everything (and i hope im not offending anyone who has the others bc i truley thought all were GREAT places just a matter of my opinion) but what i wanted advise on is whether or not i should book velvet or still look at the others...my date is pretty popular so im worried that bob will get booked and i dont want to see the others, still decide im in love with velvet but when i call to book find out that they are booked already

any advice would be appreciated..maybe even info about the ones i have appointments for next week would help!! thanks in advance!!

********* UPDATE ***********

So i unofficially booked velvet lol...i just called and told him that i wanted to book, but i didnt do it over the phone bc he said if i give cash that he wont charge me tax, so im going in there on tuesday to drop off my deposit and officially book! woohooo!!!! im so excited hahaha

Wow, that seems like a great price. I went to velvet last week, and looked at a similar package. Only difference was instead of the mini album, i had a parent album. and our BG album had 60 pics, not 90. He quoted me about $1400 more than what you got. We were a little turned off by the price, so decided not to go with him. But he had really nice work.

yeah im sure the difference is the parent albums..i didnt get those cause i figured when i have the cd i can just print out pics for our parents and put it in an album for a lot cheaper lol

yeah i mean i def want them..but i think i can make it myself for alot cheaper so i asked for it not to be included..it saves a lot of money bc thats two less albums

I booked with Velvet. We got parent albums though and decided to have less pictures in our album and have the parent albums. We just had our e-pics last week and Bob is so nice.

My price was higher with Velvet then what you were quoted also....we went with Duet because after looking at a LOT of photographers, I thought their package and what they offered was the best....they are REALLY negotiable too. I thought Perceptions was priced really high.
