Do you think I will be able to still book a place for my reception for June of 06? Or do you think it will be taken since it in a very common month to get married? I have been trying to book before Valentine's Day. I still have a few more this week to look at, hopefully one of them will be the one. I'm trying not to stress about this. Please I need opinions. Thanks

Don't worry about it. You should be fine, especially if you are flexible about what night you want to have it on (Friday or a Sunday). I was able to book my reception place 7 months before my wedding date, and it's a popular place.
If you have your heart set on a specific date, call before and ask for availability on that date before you trek out to see it.

Relax... don't pressure yourself because you might end up settling for a hall just to have one booked.
You have plenty of time. I know alot of brides book their halls 2 - 3 years in advance sometimes but that doesn't mean you find the perfect place for you. You'd be surprised how late many prime dates and times are still available.

A girl in my office just booked her 5/14/05 wedding last week. You can do it. Once you book the hall start gown shopping- that takes the longest!

I think it depends on the date and day of your wedding. If you want a June wedding on a Saturday I would book it asap. I wouldn't wait until 2006.

You could do that and wait until you are done looking. But if you think you found the right one, don't let it go since you'll never know. I know that when my FH and I started looking for our hall (2004), some halls are already booked for 2006. Good Luck.

I think you'll be fine. But if you have a specific date or place in mind I'd do it asap. A few of the halls I looked at already had dates booked for June 06 by Nov/Dec. 04.

I think you'll be fine. I agree that you should call some places ahead of time to find out if it is available. This way you don't waste your time. Good luck with your search.

There are still some Saturdays open for this year so finding a date for 2006 is totally possible.
ETA - I know that Majestic Gardens has Saturday 10/8/05 open right now (afternoon and evening). There must be others.

i got engaged in july 04 and booked my place for june 05 in august 04. So I wouldn't worry and alot of places had openings except for villa lombardis. but my brother had his reception there so it wasn't my first choice anyway.

definitely just call the halls before so you don't have your heart broken if they're taken. Try to be as flexible about the day of week as possible (maybe time also) GOOD LUCK!

Unless you are set on a specific day, I am of the mindset that you could drive yourself crazy. I booked my hall Dec. 31 for an April 05 wedding. Because I booked so close to the date I got a great price. They figure if they aren't booked allready they probably wont and are happy to get the gig. This approach is not for everyone. I just don't like having that much time to think about things. Hopefully it will all work out in the end. I still have to book photography, dj and florist. Any suggesttions?? don't want to spend a fortune. Good luck and have fun.

im planning mine so far in advance. Most places that we have gone to see have asked us if we were planning on 05 or 06, they kinda seemed shocked when we said 07. I wouldnt worry to much, but make sure that you do go check them out soon. Just make sure that you dont settle on a place because you feel stuck on that time. You could prob always push it back a year if your set on that time of year. Good luck

I wouldnt worry too much. When my sister got married a few years back, she and her husband lucked out when another couple postponed their wedding (though not lucky for THAT couple). You wouldn't want to jinx another couple but things happen that force people to change plans. I think you will be fine.
