Ok so here is the deal..I will be returning to grad school in the fall I just received the calendar and I will only have Mon and Tues off after my wedding...All grad classes are night and I will most likely have a class on Wed evening. So does anyone have any good suggesting for a mini honeymoon (we will probably going to take a cruise during the summer..depending upon when summer classes start)
So the wedding is in Feb and the only stipulation is that we do not ski ...so it can't be a ski resort
Please we are willing to hear any idea
thanks in advance

There are 3 day 'escapes' to like bahamas / bermuda or you could go to Disney? We went once for all of 3 days tops and had a blast...or a resort in the mountains has other things to do besides ski...relax by the fire etc??

I don't know how big of a gambler you are but you could go to AC for a few days...You could try some place in the pocono's, you don't have to ski but you can go tubing

Caesar's Poconos Palace was fun--a little cheezy (over the top), but we had a great time! And we had our own private in room pool!

The Woodstock Inn in Woodstock, VT.
It'll be cold as all heck but it's a beautiful, quaint Vermont town & the Inn is gorgeous & a few nice restaurants.
DH & I went one New Years & we don't ski either.
My father goes every year around that same time in February.

i'm in grad school too...i have class/clinic the day after my wedding...i am pretty sure that i am taking monday tues and wednesday off from school, whether they like it or not, and going into manhatten. they are lucky i decided not to go on a honeymoon right away.
ok...i am actually going to talk to my professors, but regardless i am going. i will let them know, and get the work and whatnot. most realize there is life outside of graduate school

Double Tree Inn and Spa in Newport, RI. You can take the Orient Point Ferry.
We sent my parents there for their 25th Anniversary. You can go to the old houses. They went in the winter too.
Maybe stay in NYC and go to museaums and shows. Or another big city, like Chicago.
We are going to a 'Mountain Resort' in Georgia, they have private cabins with a spa, and spa tub in every cabin. Doing outdoor stuff but not skiing.

Do you like Manhattan? FH and I are getting married on Friday and have to be back at work on Monday. We are going to splurge and stay at a hotel in Manhattan for a night, maybe the Plaza or the Waldorf- somewhere we normally can't really affored. We'll see a show and go out for a nice dinner.
I'd suggest the Finger Lakes otherwise, because it's gorgeous there, but I'd hesitate to drive anywhere really, because the weather's so unpredicatable.

Well do you guys want to go somewhere within driving difference or do you want to hop on a plane? In my honest opinion, I would probably go somewhere you could drive to and relax. Although 3 day trips are easy enough, I would think they would be a bit much after all of the stress and excitement of your wedding day. Why don't you find a private lodge type place and just go relax. There's a place in the Catskills that FH and I have stayed at called Gold Mountain Chalet Resort. If you get one of the deluxe chalets you have a cute little log cabin with a fireplace, hot tub and private sauna. You can go on their meal plan or bring your own. On their meal plan you can either eat in the main lodge or they will deliver the food to your chalet. The food's not fabulous, but it's ok and certainly convenient when they bring it to you.

Re: I need some advice
I would say the Poconos would be a nice quick getaway, but just be careful where you go because it will be February and if you go to places like vermont or pennsylvania, you don't want to get snowed in and then not be able to make it back for your classes. The quick 3 day cruise to the bahamas sounds nice and relaxing or just going into the city and staying at a nice hotel sounds cool too!!

Re: I need some advice
i say take a day or two off from school and go to a beautiful bed and breakfast in new hampshire or vermont. even if you don't ski, the snow is beautiful and you can get a room with a hot tub and cuddle in front of the fireplace...
