So I'm a BM in my cousins wedding which is in October. I just got an email from the MOH who said that they want to go away for the bacholorette party - from August 24 (a Thursday) to the 28 (Monday). I guess I'm looking for feedback on how much is too much to expect from the bridal party. I don't know that I'm going to have 3 days to take off b/c I'm taking off 3 weeks for my wedding in May. No one knows where we're going yet (probably Florida or Vegas) but it is wrong that I feel that asking us to spend hundreds of dollars to go away is asking too much? Feedback is much appreciated - thanks!!

I think its too much to ask If all the girls are up for it and can afford it then more power-but I wouldnt be able to afford it, planning a wedding or not. I would just apologize and explain that you cant afford it

I was in a wedding where they asked everyone to go to Texas for the Bachlorette party. I couldn't go, and the Bride was totally cool about it. I think it's nice to ask everyone if it's something the Bride would want to do, but not to expect everyone to be able to go. Bridesmaids have to pay for enough as it is. Just my opinion though!

For my bachelorette party, we're going to Florida. This was something that my BM's really wanted to do. I explained that not everyone would be able to attend due to things such as finances, etc. and not everyone is going.
I would never be upset if one of my BM's wasn't able to come away for the weekend. It's really expensive. I don't think that you should feel obligated to go.
Take your cousin out for a nice dinner or something instead.

i agree that it is way too much.. our bridal party is take both me and FH away for one night .. it will be an all day one day an overnight and then all day the next day... thats fun affordable and no time needed to take off
