I need some help
I posted this question a while back, but never got a response. I thought I would try it again since there seems to be a lot of new people on the site. Between myself and my fiance there is only one living grandparent(my grandmother). I want to do something special for her at the church or reception. I am already dedicating my bouquet to my mom, and I have all of my readers...so any ideas out there?

Hi Heather! Are you getting married in a Catholic Church or are you having a full Mass? If so, you can have your Grandmother walk up the aisle with the offerings (the communion and wine). Another idea is when you walk up the aisle, you can take a single flower out of your bouquet and simply hand it to your Grandmother. If you decide to do this, just tell your Florist your idea. Good Luck!

Thank you for your ideas! I am getting married in a Catholic church, but my grandmother is not Catholic. Do you know if that matters? I really like the flower idea too. I was also thinking of having the band play a special song for her to dance to w/ my dad.

She does not need to be catholic to bring up the gifts. The dance is a nice idea too. You can even dance with her! Another suggestion is to present her with a rose during the sign of piece.

Heather- In the Jewish faith (or at least at my family weddings), when parents marry off their last child, during the reception there's a mini-ceremony. A crown of flowers was made for the mom, and presented as both parents sat in the middle of the dance floor (on a chair of course!). Then a song is played, and the family dances around the parents. It's really a special moment for everyone. Perhaps you can modify this somehow to fit your needs. Good luck!!
