I need some help here, I am freaking out!

I need some help here, I am freaking out!

So, I sent out my invitations last week and at least 4 people have asked me if the thirteenth was during Columbus Day weekend? Uh, I'm getting married the thirtieth not the thirteenth! What should I do, send some sort of note clarifying the date of the wedding is October 30?

Was there a misprint on your invitation? or are the people just seeing it wrong?

It was NOT a misprint...people are not reading it correctly. How often do you see the word thirtieth? Kind of looks like thirteen if you look quickly, right? I never even realized this when I did my invitations!!!

I would not stress about it-- although I am sure you will! When I first get an invite I glance it, then later I study it to make sure I have the date right so I can rsvp and put it on my calendar.

I mean, people need to look a little more closely before they call you up and ask you about it.

Try not to make yourself crazy.

October 13th is a Wed. and hopefully these people will look at a calendar and realize that there is a big spelling difference between Wednesday and Saturday, assumming that your invitations say Saturday October 30th.

The invitation reads 'Saturday October thirtieth'. I looked at the calendar and noticed the 13 was a Wednesday, but I'm still nervous.

i think most people should know it's the 30th, but if you are still worried, you could call a few friends and have them spread the word. some people just don't read the invitations carefully! LOL!

Geez, as if we brides don't have enough to stress about, now we have to worry about people's ability to read!! I am sure I'd be stressing out too in your situation, but try to have faith that 99% of people will read it correctly and the few who don't will figure it out once they realize the thirteenth is a Wednesday.

oh, wow! I think that people will definitely realize when they see it is a Wednesday

Oh god. I hope people realize!!

I didn't even think of this.

But now that I do think about it - we included the hotel cards with the date in numeric format and we pointed people to our website as well.

Hopefully people are smart enough.

On the bright side, if they do show up on the 13th, they will realize and come again on the 30th. If it were the other way around they would miss it completely!!

We are having the worth 'thirtieth' spelled out on our save the dates, and FH was initially concerned that people would think it said 'thirteenth.' I told him we shouldn't worry about it, we can't design everything around people's possible stupidity!

I am also getting married Oct 30th, actually when I got my invites back I looked at them, and had to double check that it said 30th, and not 13th when it was spelt out. I am hoping that nobody thinks I am getting married on Wed too!

LOL!!!

Thanks for calming me down! As you guys suggested, I will just 'spread the word' through friends and hope all goes well!

Thanks!

The best thing to do, i think, is what's done for regestry info: Have your mother and/or bridal party 'spread the word' or casually mention it in conversation. The bad readers will catch on eventually.
I wouldn't worry..just make sure you correct them if they mention it directly to you

How many people are you inviting?
Maybe you can simply call everyone (divide between yourself, parents and inlaws) ?
