I need some help - Situation with a BAD Florist...

Hi ladies,
As some of you may know I am not happy with my current florist and have decided to call it quits with them. We never signed a contract. The only thing the quote says is that once money has been given to secure the date that quote becomes a contract. I've already given them $200 for a deposit. So my question is this... Does anyone know the law in Nassau County for getting my money back in this situation? I'm giving them more than a years notice. Does anyone know if I can get my money back?

Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated!!

TIA!!!

Hi, Jennie. Are we speaking of Burtons? Because I switched them less than 2 months before our wedding (nightmare.....) but got back our deposit and a letter of apology from the owner. Basically, what we'd spoken about for only a freaking entire year looked nothing like my final flower trial, and I was given a total attitude by the woman I was working with.

That said, you should be able to get your money back. I eventually went with James Cress in Smithtown, and they were great and knew our venue inside out. Good luck. FM me for more details if you want. But, my deposit was only $50. Perhaps the rates went up?

No I'm not talking about Burtons. This vendor is WELL known on this site for being HORRIBLE. Unfortunately, I didn't join until AFTER I booked HIM (& HER - Hint, hint... ). Having said that, I've got a $200 deposit with them so it is really worth it to me to get this money back.

Did you ask them if they'll refund it ? I know which florist you're referring to, because there was a long thread about this awhile back. ( I used the same one

)

You can probably take them to small claims if you want. But Im sure you can find another florist that can save you the $200 you lost with your florist especially if you explain your situation.

If it's the same florist who I originally booked, I know that s/he will not refund the money. I lost $400.

I don't know which florist you are referring too, but I cancelled my florst after signing a contract (no fault of there's I loved them) and they gave me no hassle whatsoever in refunding my money.

Good luck

My husband( that sound weird), had them as a client and on sales call Jack would brag on how he RE-USED Flowers from other events and displays. He eventually stiffed my husband co on a large Bill $$. I would never ever think about doing business with this winner.
