I definitly want to do this, but my hall dosent have it.. and the quotes I got were a little much.. I still think its nice but since we already are getting so many extras food wise we arent sure

well for place cards I am 99% sure we are doing the candle thing.. Favors.. his mom is paying for so thats pretty much up to her and my approval.. I like the little touches during the wedding that let people know you were thinking of them.. instead of getting intelligent lights and all this other stuff I worked it out with my FMIL to have little box's of godiva's handed out with the cake... and I REALLY want to do the basket of slippers for people who's feel hurt at the end of the night but am having trouble finding the closed toe kind wholesale.. not even on ebay

thank you! I will definitly keep you posted!! I saw a pic a long time ago it was so cute.. it was a wicker basket full of slippers and a little note attatched. Something like this - Something from the bride and groom to help you dance the night away.. I thought it was sooo sweet.

I'm planning on having wedding photos from my guests' weddings in the foyer at the vineyard. I thought this was a really nice, personal touch. I really like the slipper idea too! :o)

Gosh I have so much planned let's see:
Gazebo Ceremony - fancy floral fans, bubbles, programs, rose petal toss, instant pics taken for our memory book upon each guest's arrival
Cocktail Hour - our engagement photo with signing mat, seating scroll, 1st place card on place card table
Reception - dance giveaways, 2nd personal placecard on rose petal card holder, assortment of marble utensil favors, menus
Departure - rum cake in favor boxes (plus our wedding cake if they did not eat it before), and cd's of reception music

Yes, we'll probably limit it to family members too, otherwise it could get out of hand! :o) Although, all of our college friends seem to be getting married in a row - separated by a few months. It might be fun to have those, but it might open up some problems if we don't ask everyone.
I'm also doing OOT bags which I think are a nice touch. I'm also looking for more ideas!

I saw this great idea in Martha Stewart Weddings (sum 03):
They put a bare tree branch (looks almost like drift wood) into a vase filled with pretty stones. Attached to the branches were small bird nests. Blank pieces of paper shaped like doves were left out (doves are the symbol of 'love, happiness, and harmony') on which your guests could write their best wishes for you and your groom! The doves are then placed in the nests.
I thought this was such a cute idea! We are going to do our own spin-off. I wish I had a pic. You can check it out on page 102 of the mag.
