i need some serious RH help!

So ive been engaged for over a year and still havent found a place thats right for me.... its so frustrating! Its not that I dont love a lot of places but some of them are wayyyy too exspensive.. I want to find a RH where I can have a friday night wedding for about 85 pp for 150 guests in summer 2012. I found the riviera, but i feel like thats too weather dependent because without the cocktail hour outside i would hate it! so if it rains im screwed! im just so frustrated!

Would you move it to late fall or winter for the right location at a lower price?

i just always wanted a summer wedding its just a hard thing to let go of.... and places like the riviera or westbury manor i feel like the outdoor cocktail hour makes it what it is ...if i could find a place with a beautiful indoor room for cocktails and no outside area that would probably help me change my mind

LOL you sound like me!

I was going through the same thing. I thought i was getting married at a castle until i saw how much it costs and got hit with a good dose of reality.

budget is really an obstacle... lol

If it rains, my outdoor CH will be kebashed as well.

Did you look at Harbour Club in Huntington?

honestly, give the riviera a second chance. i was so set on having the cocktail hour outside, but we had the food set up inside, no one went outside unless they went to smoke or fight. yes, i said fight. and we had a gorgeous day in may.

I am not sure what your budget is but you should look into The Carltun at Eisenhower Park. We only looked at one other place before them and fell in love with it.

I was in a similar boat, I loved the Riviera except for one small thing. Those ugly arse chairs in the CH room. I am praying so hard that it will be a nice day so that we won't have to have anything inside at all. But honestly, in the overall scheme of things, the ballroom is beautiful, and everything else about the place was great, and no one will probably even notice the ugly chairs for the 1 hr they are in there. So if that is the only thing holding you up you might want to reconsider I looked for a place just like the Riviera and the only other place that compared was OFC and that was just too far for our guests, and its more than $85 for a Friday.
