So ive been engaged for over a year and still havent found a place thats right for me.... its so frustrating! Its not that I dont love a lot of places but some of them are wayyyy too exspensive.. I want to find a RH where I can have a friday night wedding for about 85 pp for 150 guests in summer 2012. I found the riviera, but i feel like thats too weather dependent because without the cocktail hour outside i would hate it! so if it rains im screwed! im just so frustrated!

Did you try Chateau Le Mer? I think they fall into your budget.

Re: i need some serious RH help!
I'm getting married in the Veranda room at east wind. It's an indoor cocktail hour but they have tables set up on the balcony outside for people to eat there. It has an overhang so no worries about weather. The room holds 190 so you would be fine with 150.
I also looked at Miller Place INn which I almost booked until I saw East Wind

I was in a similar boat, I loved the Riviera except for one small thing. Those ugly arse chairs in the CH room. I am praying so hard that it will be a nice day so that we won't have to have anything inside at all. But honestly, in the overall scheme of things, the ballroom is beautiful, and everything else about the place was great, and no one will probably even notice the ugly chairs for the 1 hr they are in there. So if that is the only thing holding you up you might want to reconsider I looked for a place just like the Riviera and the only other place that compared was OFC and that was just too far for our guests, and its more than $85 for a Friday.
You must be my long long twin sister because that's EXACTLYYYYY what I am thinking!!!!! I would've booked riviera already if those damn chairs were different because I wouldn't care if it rained or not

hahahaha. Trust me, I feel your pain. Every time I go there to make payments, I love EVERYTHING and everybody, and then I see those chairs I was seriously considering asking if they could swap them out with some of the chivari chairs from the ballroom or something. It took a little convincing by FH and my mom before we booked, but I finally just said screw it, no one will notice (I hope).

Re: i need some serious RH help!
Can I request The Watermill (BEAUTIFUL GROUNDS) or The Inn at New Hyde Park?
SIL got married at the Watermill and there are so many places to take pictures and the room is very pretty.
The Inn at NHP, the lady told us that a lot of brides like the inside more then the outside (and let me tell you everything at that hall is above averge) for the cocktail because of the room. The price is a little high but it's absolutely breath taking.
Good luck!

Re: i need some serious RH help!
try Crest Hollow - beautiful grounds- light up pool at night, waterfalls, garden or Crescent Beach Club in Bayville- right on beach but a little pricey

Re: i need some serious RH help!
Oh also, there are totally legit bathroom options for outdoor / home weddings. Same friend as above had a tent wedding so they used bathrooms that were like on trailer....they were SO nice and you couldn't tell you weren't indoors. There are SOOOOO many solutions for planning an at home wedding....

Try looking out east. I am getting married at The Vineyard (once know as Vineyard Caterers ) the place is beautiful but you will be upset if it rains.
Giorgio's and flowerfield are nice as well but not sure how much they are on a Friday. Probably more than $85.

Re: i need some serious RH help!
I'm getting married at The Vineyards as well. I love that even if it rains the cocktail hour can still be outside b/c of the covered area. Something to consider.
