I need some support...(posting my vows - personal.)
I think my vows might be too long.
How long is too long?
I think it will be about 2 minutes. I have cut all I can but I have alot to say! I mean all of this stuff.
What do you think? Is the journal entry part too much?
I never thought I would post my personal vows on a public forum, but i really trust you ladies.
Only keeping up for a short time...
Nick,
I remember so clearly the moment I heard I was going to spend the rest of my life with you. It was sometime after I realized I had the wonderful fortune of meeting someone as strange as I was. It was only 3 months in. Out of nowhere, I heard in my head over and over the phrase: “This is the man you are going to spend the rest of your life with.” I was struck, in that moment, with the unbelievable realization that you were him. The moment literally knocked the breath out of me, squeezed my heart, and absolutely terrified me. I truly believe this phrase was spoken to me from God. He was preparing me. I hid these words deep in my heart for the next year. I recalled them every time you bought me a silly toy or hid concert tickets in a bag of lettuce. I heard them every time you spoke kind, loving, sweet words to me. I felt them your touch, and understood them in your eyes. Never did you do anything caused me to think otherwise.
I even wrote in my journal: “This love inspires me. Our lives, our souls, are traveling such similar paths. This is something real, something lasting. I honestly believe that any dreams would come true if he was next to me…like I could accomplish anything if he were mine. This love chose me, and now, after 6 months, I choose him.”
Today, I choose you Nick.
In thinking about what I want to promise to you, I kept coming back to one word: everything. I promise you everything: all of me, all that I am capable of giving to you, I offer with complete faith that you will give everything back to me.
I promise to be a devoted, understanding, and considerate wife. This means never talking poorly of you to anyone.
I vow never to let our incredible friendship wither. I have never laughed so hard with anyone or at anyone. I promise to never stop interacting with your characters, and laughing at your jokes, only as long as you remain an active audience for mine.
I will not take you for granted.
I promise to be an open, communicative, and patient mother to our children, and to accept my role as the other half of what I know will be a strong, loving and fun parenting team.
I vow to keep our dreams alive, and to encourage you daily to dream big and then bigger.
I promise you these things and more through all of the challenges life will present to us today, tomorrow and forever.
