Really? Michael's doesn't have dowels? Did you check AC Moore as well?
I'm 99% sure that Lady Jane crafts on Woodhaven Blvd. has them.
I just googled DIY Ribbon Wands and it calls for 30 CM dowels.

we used the THICK, long sticks that they sell for LOLLIPOPSSS!!!! micheals sells them. and w coupon its cheaaaap

They actually sell them already made at Michaels in the bridal section....I want to say it was $30 for maybe 40 or 50...then get those 40% off coupons and its already done!
