I need to stop being CHEAP

OK-I really need to stop being cheap!! This is my wedding-NO I don't want to go broke; and NO i don't want to spend $30K but i have to stop thinking i have 'no money' to pay for it. It's doable...We both work in finance; we have good jobs; i even just started working at Crate & Barrel on the side for a little extra $$ there's no reason that i should keep saying i can't afford the littlest things.

FH always says i'm the cheapest person he knows! LOL! It's funny; but i really got to stop nickle & diming everything!! The good thing is that i'm the QUEEN of bargaining and finding a good deal (when i grocery shop i make a list w/the 4 closest supermarkets & i find what i need for the lowest price!). So i know that everything i book....i'll be getting the best price possible!!

agreed.. dont apologize to yourself for being the way you are ... i am the opposite and sometimes kick myself in the butt afterwards which is why my FH is on my tail.. he is like you but he also grew up diff so he really understand the value of a dollar.. but i honestly dont think there is anything wrong with saving/ budgeting with your wedding....

there's nothing wrong with being cheap. weddings are so expensive - if you can be cheap and pull off an awesome wedding - then go you!

good for you for negotiating and getting the biggest bang for your buck

on the other hand, however, i think you're right in telling yourself to stop being AS cheap ... sometimes, the extra money is def worth it.

this is what i do ... i think of a vendor (or item or whatever i want to spend money on) ... i think 'if i don't buy/book this, will i regret it tomorrow?' ... if i think i will regret it, i buy it regardless of the cost (well, almost regardless lol) ... if i will not regret it, then i'm not spending a penny!

I agree! There are some things that are great to bargain for, but then other things are worth that extra money. Like when FH and I went to look at photographers, I really didn't care how much I spent because that was the one thing that money wasn't an object for me. But other things I have bargained for. Actually, FH is more of a bargainer than me

I know what you mean! Its gonna be soooo hard to part with the money when the time comes...I'm such a cheap azz too, its so weird to think about parting with a boatload of $$

ETA - it is a good thing to be cheap tho and know you're getting the most for your money, so don't beat urself up over it! Go for the hall of your dreams - you won't regret it
