I need to vent!!!!!!!!!

My mom just told me she was talking to her best friend (on of my BMs mom) and she was asking alot of questions regarding to our guest list. My mom told her how many we invited (230...not an insane number considering our family alone is about 100 people). She then was very pursistant on everyone getting guests and then had the nerve to say we were inviting so many people b/c we just wanted money from them

WHO SAYS THAT?!?!?! My mom had no idea what to say to her and I was shocked that she even said that to my mom or would even think that. FH and I work together, we have a lot of friends and family we want there and both our parents have friends they want there. I didnt think our wedding was this crazy number of guests

i've got 250, and mom wants to add 6 more.....and we cut a lot of people!!!! what a jerky thing to day.....especially being that her daughter is close enough with you to be a BM!!!! take it with a grain of salt....everyones got an opinion

ITA...we got in the 250 range and the number seems to be getting higher and higher by the day!! FHs cousin's wedding was 600 guests so whenever I get overwhelmed by the number of people I always think to myself.. 'It could be worse!'

I've been best friends with my BM since I was 2 so I have known this woman for as long as I can remember. I'm so surprised she would even think something like that. Just wait till my BM gets married one day. She will see al lteh craziness I have to put up with

I KNOW my BM is 2 years younger then me and completely single. Its not like its something that would happen really soon for my BM for her mother to be jealous

a comment like that is pretty ignorant! Don't take it personally, she doesn't know better most likely!

We are hoping to have a smaller wedding, only about 100 guests, which is pretty hard to accomplish because we have alot of friends, especially from work, and we both have a big family! It's pretty easy to hit 250 guests!!

I know I told FH (aka GOTW as he likes to be called now ) and he really wasnt happy. He even said if she feels there are too many people there then she can stay home

haha- GOTW is great :) And I like what he has to say- anyone who wants to comment in a negative way about anything regarding your wedding can stay home!

OMG! that is beyond rude!! Is she jealous because your getting married and maybe her kids arent? Or the didnt have good wedding experiences? I dont care what her problem is that is just rude

Its still under my skin. I cannot beleive she even thought that and much less said it about us. Shes known me forever and thats what she thinks of my wedding!!!!!!

I'm almost up to 280 so I don't think 230 is bad at all!! That's ridiculous and hurtful that she said that. It does't even make sense that anyone would invite more people to get more money. That's insane!
