Hello everyone...I'm Jackie and totally new to this thing. I hope everyone is having fun planning their wedding! I have been engaged for over a year now and as agreed with my fiance we postponed our wedding planning for a year untill I was done with school. Well, finally I finished and want to start planning for my wedding which by the way we want a SUMMER WEDDING hoping for July of '08. I know it's fast approaching but I have faith that I can make it. I am very interested on having my wedding reception at either Jericho Terrace or Russo's On The Bay. I've read great reviews for both but I was wondering if anyone knew what their price range is???? Does anyone suggest a wedding planner ??? Any help will be greatly appreciated...Or if anyone can recommend reception halls in Brooklyn??? Thank you!

Congrats and Welcome! I am booked at Russo's! Who is your appointment with? I had Carol when I booked but now I am dealing with Ann! They are fantastic! I'm getting married on a Friday in March and got a great price...FM me and I'll give you details! Jericho Terrace is also wonderful! That was in our top three!

Also check out the Inn at New Hyde Park - and the Douglaston Manor - they renovated it and it's supposed to be really nice (although I haven't seen it myself) - also there is Leonard's in Great Neck!

Hi Jackie:
I'm new to this site as well and am planning on a summer 08 wedding (our date was moved up b/c of family issues). I loved Douglaston Manor and think I'm going to book there.
We looked into Russo's as well and if you have the $$ and the guest list it's possible. We're having under 130 and you have to Guarantee 150 or 175 at Russo's.

Congrats! This site is great, I don't know what I'd do without it. Have you looked at the New Hyde Park Inn? I hear it's been redone.
They have done a ton of work at the 'Inn at New Hyde Park' which used to be called the New Hyde Park Inn. I live in the area, and from the outside it looks really nice now. I'm going to my FH's wedding there the day after thanksgiving, so I'll be sure to post a review of it after that.

Some nice places in Brooklyn are: The Grand Prospect Hall Temple Sholom El Caribe Brooklyn Botanical Gardens I also heard, but haven't seen it myself, that Kingsboro Community College just opened a catering hall by the water -- that sounds interesting for a summer wedding!

Re: I need TONS of help!
welcome!!!! enjoy the addition of this site!!!!
im getting married at the riviera in brooklyn...
other great halls are: russos westbury manor the north ritz club
there are really so many amazing places you just have to decide what you want how many weddings you want going on if that is a concern for you....if you want something with a garden...how many guest you are having and if the place can hold that amount...
but what helped me was the books with all the rh by location it gave prices (which were not that accurate) and how many functions go on and how many guest they hold....
