My bridesmaids are wearing this vera wang dress in dark purple. I don't like the black one that came with it because I think it makes the dress look too dark. I was thinking of getting a lavender belt but I only see them in satin. I think this dress is polyester...do you think having shiny satin belt would look weird. What do you think of lavender?
I wanted a blingy belt but those are too expensive.
I don't think the difference in material will be a problem especially because they are both dressy fabric. For the color it would be hard to judge without seeing them together. I def recommend trying the colors on with the dress before you order them.

If you want to add bling maybe you can get a nice inexpensive brooch to add to the satin belt. I would suggest checking out ebay. I purchased my BMs DOJ from there and it was inexpensive and very nice. I have a pic of it in my review.

I was at David's the other day and their blingy belts weren't that expensive, I was also at Barron's in tri-county and they had some nice blingy belts as well.

Do you have an accent color? When I was considering a belt/sash (at least for my MOH), I was thinking of doing silver, which is my accent color, on the burgundy dress. The dress we went with has an empire waist, though, so a belt won't work at all.
Silver satin would work with the dress you picked just as silver jewelry would. I love purple and silver together!!

I bought silver and lavender ribbon and I'm running to Davids Bridal to see which color I like better. Then I just need to find the actual sash...dunno would my ribbon from Michaels will work
