I need your opinion - Photo dilemma (Kinda Long)

I need your opinion - Photo dilemma (Kinda Long)

So I have been going back and forth on this for a while, I am getting married at Villa Lombardi's and my ceremony starts at 6 but they let me get their at 430 to get ready or take pics. Me and my FH want to see eachother b4 the wedding so we can take pics and not miss our cocktail hour. Now heres the problem an hour and a half is not enough time to take all our pics especially because I dont want my guests to see me b4 the wedding so that means I really can only take pics from 430-530. So here are my options I can pay $150 to be able to get to Villa Lombardi's at 330 (they charge extra because our maitre D wont be there that early and they need to pay him for the extra hour) or find a picture location. I've always wanted to take pictures at Planting fields but my FH thinks it might be too far and since it is the weekend b4 the Fourth of July their might be a lot of traffic and we dont want to be late. I think VIlla is really pretty but they dont have many spots to take pics. So finally I guess Im asking should I pay extra and get to VIlla early or since I have most of the day free should I go early to Planting Fields and take pics? TIA!!!

I would pay Villa to go early since Planting Fields is going to charge you to take pics there too. If logistics say being at Villa early is easier, then do it.

I think I can get into my bridal suite at VYC by Noon, and also plan to do a reveal there and as many photos as possible. We will not miss our CH! No no no! lol

I totally agree! Pay for the extra hour at your RH so you don't have to worry about traffic.

Is there any other location not too far from Villa Lombardi's where you can go and take pics before hand? I think it would be nice to have an alternate back drop for your pics besides at the RH.
Sorry I'm not familiar with that area and can't just recommend somewhere, guess I'm really no help here.

I THINK I DISAGREE!!!!

ONLY BECAUSE FOR ME, I DID NOT WANT JUST PICTURES AT THE HALL....IT WAS IMPORTANT FOR ME TO GET PICTURES OF US AT ANOTHER LOCATION...YOU KNOW YOU GUYS WILL WIND UP PAYING EITHER WAY, WHETHER YOU ARE AT VILLA LOMBARDIS OR AT PLANTING FIELD....SO MY LOGIC IS, IF YOU HAVE ENOUGH OF THE LATE MORNING/EARLY AFTERNOON HOURS OPEN, WHY NOT GO TO PLANTING FIELD?...PLAN IT EARLY ENOUGH TO AVOID ANY TRAFFIC BACK TO RH AND WITH ENOUGH TIME FOR A FEW SHOTS AT RH ALSO!

if it's not important to you to take pictures at another location, then i would just pay...i mean we are all spending so much money on this big day and we want the pictures to remember the day by! the way i look at is when you are spending so much $$, what's another few hundred dollars?

I would probably pay Villa for the convenience. However, if it's important to you to have pictures somewhere other than just the RH then its definitely worth looking into take the pics elsewhere, these pictures will last a lifetime, and you want to be happy with them. If you're worried about traffic, etc. plan in some extra time to make sure you have enough time to get to your RH.

I'm all about the alternative loc whether it be planting fields or otherwise---you kinda answered your own question when you said you didn't think they had many place to take pics. I think i'm going to a dif loc earlier in the day because I like outdoor pics better anyway

Villa is a gorgeous place but I do agree that you may run out of places to take pictures. If you want to take pictures at another separate location, maybe with a different outdoor backdrop, why don't you look into parks/places around there that are closer to the reception hall. I wanted pictures at places besides the church and RH so we found a place nearby. I am sure your pictures will be great no matter what you choose.

I would go with the Planting fields......I dont think it's that much money to take pics there & i agree with the fact that I would want pics at more than just my RH!

THIS! Planting fields is actually a great price, about the same amount. I am getting married JULY 3rd, so traffic will be an issue, we will just plan for it...I really want pics outside other than at the RH. GL
