I need your opinions on our ceremony which honors my son...

We want to include my son in the ceremony as well since we are all going to become a family that day. I thought about giving him a ring, or a chain w/a cross on it after this is said. What do you think?

Often marriage is viewed as the union of two individuals. In reality, however, marriage is much broader. As we give thanks to God for the love that brings Daniel and Michelle together, so too we recognize the merging of families taking place and the additional love and responsibility that family and friends bring to this relationship.

As part of the family nature of God's creation we recognize 'Christian' and the significant role he play(s) in this marriage today celebrated

Daniel and Michelle present to Christian this Family Medallion (ring) created as a symbol for new family relationship and in recognition of the hope and joy made visible through this marriage.

Christian, In the placing of this medallion Daniel and Michelle pledge to you their continuing love even as they surround him now with their arms of support and protection. Then there will be a reading...and then this:

It is my pleasure to present to you Daniel and Michelle in their new relationship as husband and wife and their son Christian

I think I am going to cry! My best friend is doing that, since between the two of them, they have 3 sons. I think it is beautiful. There won't be a dry eye in the house.

I think that is so sweet. I absolutely love it. It's so touching and I love that making him feel special. That's very important.

I love that. First time I ever saw something like this was at my friends wedding 2 years ago, they both had children from previous marriages, and I sat there and bawled my eyes out.

I think it sounds beautiful. I would get him the cross, so he could wear it more and somethimes guys arent comfortable wearing rings

Though either one would be nice, I would think the chain w/ a cross would be something he would have more use of, since his ring size will most likely change if he is still growing.

I love the idea for the ceremony.

i'm presenting that same medalion to my son at our wedding. we're going with the one in the second picture. i hope you don't mind if i 'borrow' the reading. it made me cry.

i also tried to workin the 'family' into our invitation. it mentioned him by name.

I don't mind at all!!! Since my son is older..we decided to go for the pin instead. I love that it comes in its own box and we can place a picture of us in it
