I ordered my dress today!!!!!!!! (Long)

Hi - Just wanted to share the good news!! I ordered my dress today from Lynbrook Bridal - and the price was incredible!! I originally went to Beautiful Bride. They were very nice, attentive and helpful. I fell in love with one dress, but was disappointed to learn that the sale tag that said $850 was for the dress off the rack. If I wanted to order it new, it would have been $1,700 - way over my budget. I was upset because I had been there going back and forth, and decided that this dress could definitely be 'the one', just to find out I couldn't afford it. I refused to spend that much money on a dress that was in the shop for a year, and had a million people try on (I also found a fairly large hole in the tulle, which although they said was repairable, I wasn't comfortable with). I just wish they would have told me that when I FIRST started trying on dresses. So then I went to Lynbrook Bridal. I was immediately greeted by Rose who helped me gather dresses in the style I wanted. I had an Alfred Angelo picture with me that I found when I first got engaged about 10 months ago - Rose got that dress for me, with about 4 others in the same style. Guess what - I BOUGHT THE DRESS I HAD FIRST CHOSEN WHEN I FIRST GOT ENGAGED. It is beautiful - and I have proven to myself that I really know what I like!! I guess it was fate that I didn't buy that other dress! They are offering 1/2 price on headpieces with veils with the purchase of a dress. I wasn't comfortable making that decision right now, so they put it on my receipt to come back at a later time. If I bring my bridesmaids there, they will get 10% off too. Just wanted to share what I consider to be one of the most exciting days of my life!!

So happy for you, you got a great deal! I actually just ordered mine yesterday too. Remember the Jessica Mcclintock dress I posted about a while back?? Well, I showed it to a few people, and finally placed the order. Feels so good to have it done, and I'm happy that I found the one!! It'll be deliverd to my house in 2 weeks, and then I have to go to a seamstress.

Great! Lynbrook is on the top of my list to try next week. Isn't it wonderful when the dress you had in your mind from the start is the one? I hope I am as lucky :-)

Marnles, Your dress is beautiful. I had an Alfred Angelo dress too. Mine is #1976 As soon as I put it on, I just knew, and it was the first gown I tried on. You just know!!!Congrats. :)

In 2000, I bought my Alfred Angelo gown at Lynbrook bridal. Rose is the owner of the shop, and she helped me on my first visit there as well. She was very, very helpful and very realistic about what looked good on me and what didn't. They are really great people there! My only advice is to schedule your fittings on weekday afternoons, if possible. They tend to get too busy on weekends and can be caught short-staffed. Otherwise, they are wonderful and I highly recommend them!

Just want to mention...

I re-read my post and I just wanted to say that I hope it didn't sound as if I was putting down Beautiful Bride. As I stated they were VERY helpful and very nice to work with. I was just disappointed about a price problem, but overall my experience there was wonderful. So I would still highly recommend them in addition to Lynbrook Bridal. I would just hate to accidentally give a bad review on a vendor which really did help me.
