I picked out my kitty!!! She will be ready to come home Monday!!!!!
I went to the Town of Oyster Bay animal shelter today and found my kitten!!! She is about 6 weeks old and a calico with a black stripe on her nose! she is sooooo cute. Of course i forgot i had a camera on my phone so i dont have a pic but i will have plenty on MONDAY!! yaya they vet will be checking her out and then she weill be released to me!!
FH and i are still deciding on a name we are going to see her personallity first but i am thinking aroura :)

Ooh youre gonna have your hands full with a calico! Especially a female. Mine hates anyone but me and FH and she BARELY likes FH! The doc said calicos have a tendency to be moody and become attached to one person! I love my moody baby though. Congrats! I wish I was bringing a new one home too!

Congrats!!!! FH and I got our two kittens from the Smithtown ANimal Shelter over a year ago. I can't imagine life without them. Their names are Franklin and Teddy (FH is a SS teacher who loves the Roosevelts) Here is a picture of them. It is of when they were babies...

i never knew that about calicos....well i hope she loves me more than FH...all the other animals in my house like him more!! lol i hope shes not too bad i want a mush!!

Oh dont worry she'll love you more! Especially if youre the one who feeds her. Just make sure you shower her with kisses and get her used to being hugged and picked up. My cat is so used to me kissing her face and most cats hate that. Just dont roughhouse with her too much. FH always played with her rough and now when he goes to pet her, she thinks hes playing and starts biting. I try and cut her nails often since she is so bad. We were on vacay for 3 days and FH's cousin was watching her and she was so pissed someone was in HER house. She scratched her up a little bit. I personally think we raised her to be the way she is by always chasing her and playing with her rough. I think if we would have been calmer with her, she would have turned out different. Its not her fault her parents are crazy

lol yeah thanks good she will love me more cause she i living at my house lol!! Thats also the reaon i wanted a baby...so she gets used to being picked up and stuff. older cats are usually set in their ways already. thanks for all the ingo you have been a great help! Ill post pics when i get her home monday!

No prob! If I had never met FH I would probably have become a crazy cat lady! I post on the ASPCA forums all the time. If you have any questions dont hesitate to ask. And check out drsfostersmith.com. They have lots of great things for cats and great food too.

really?? all of our calicos have been the sweetest mushiest kittiest... then again, we tend to luck out and even our 'hard to place' kitties wind up being big old mooshie faces after living with us for a few weeks.
