the 30 gigs ipod will allow 7500+ songs and the 60 gig driv will do 15000 songs
(all this with an estimate of 4 MB per song)
so depending on how much you want to carry on you, if you really need a screen, you can pick an ipod

I have the shuffle. I'll let you look at it tomorrow night when we go out. It's very small and hold about approx. 120 songs (approx. 5 hours worth). It was $99

I have the Mini. I really love it. It has plenty of room, it's small, sleek and inexpensive. I think they're down to $179 now.
the nano is ADORABLE but I'd wait for a price drop on that

I have the mini. I'm on my second one. My first one was a lemon. Make sure you get a warranty. Better yet, I got my second one at Circuit City adn for 60 bucks they have a 2 year warranty for it.
I just bought FH the Nano last week. It is very tiny and we can't find any accessories for it yet. (i.e. no cases, FM/car adaptors, etc.)
I would go with teh Mini, it holds more songs, sturdier and lots of accessories.

I have the 20GB which holds 5,000 songs (I think 4th Generation, with the touch wheel). I love it. I did have to exchange it after about a year of owning it because the touch wheel broke. I recommend that you purchase the extended warantee. OR you can wait untill your one year is up.
I feel that for the small difference in price and the large difference in the amount of songs, you should def. go with a larger memory device. after all, 1,000 songs isn't really that many. I have 2,300 on mine and I didn't even add all the artists that I want to yet. But, I am also judging by when I got mine about a year and 3 months ago, so the prices and the amount of memory was different.
I did hear that with the color one, the battery really drains quickly.

Apple 2GB Black iPod Nano with Color LCD $194.99
Apple® 4GB iPod® mini (M9802LL/A) $159.99
If I can get the 4GB for less than the 2GB, that would be a better deal, yes? (I have a coupon.)

correct me if i'm wrong...the nano replaced the mini. the mini was just a smaller verison then the regular ipod. the nano i think is smaller then the mini
BMD: i got your FM confused..i forgot about the mini. i told you shuffle.
Ipod mini is cheapier even though you get more space is cuase its older and has no color screen. Nano is more cause its new and has color and probally smaller.
What will be your primary use of this Gym? running? causual? are you one of those ppl that needs a gizzilion songs when you may only listen to a few at a time.

I think they are doing away with the mini, but for now I prefer the mini, there are hardly any attachments out for the nano!

I have a shuffle. And that seems enough for me. While we are on the topic, has any1 figured out how to use the ipod in 2 computers. I have music ant home and at work and every time i go back and forth itunes asks me to replace the songs.

You have to authorize the 2nd computer to play your songs. You can only authorize up to 5 computers. I'm having a really hard time with my two because I have a PC and a Mac, and I formatted it for the PC and now it won't work on the Mac
