I Promised Myself

I wasn't going to b*tch, moan and complain about missing RSVP's because after all, nobody EVER gets them all back by the date. However, I was OOT for a FULL week, and when I left there were 38 invitations unaccounted for, and I only got 7 RSVP's while I was away. (and one returned and totally destroyed invitation )

In the grand scheme of things I know the number outstanding isn't too bad . . . . but . . . . why is it that some of those that haven't come back are from people that have gotten married in the last TWO years???? Those women know full well what it is like to be waiting on RSVPs, so why oh why are they putting a fellow bride through this????

And why is it that half his BP hasn't sent in their RSVP????

And yes, the way the invitation was addressed means that your 6 year old was not invited to the reception, so now can you send back the darn RSVP???

And, I know you're in my BP, and I invited your parents, but yes dear it did put in me in an uncomfortable situation when you asked if your sister could also come to the wedding just because she will happen to be in New York that weekend.

Welcome home, Darlene!!! The RSVP situation doesn't get any easier as times goes on. I'm still waiting on 2 RSVPs and my date to give the hall the # is Thursday!!!!!!!!

Vent away all you want!!!! And now since you've been gone a week! You have EVERY RIGHT to call them, e-mail them and harass them until they do send it in!

Ummm, not really. My RSVP date has passed already, and the 31 unanswered invites are more than 1/3!

Darlene, I am REALLY glad I mailed mine back and decided AGAINST torturing you. Now I can be supportive and mean it!

Damn those $!@#$%^&* for not getting those *&^$#%^ RSVPs back to you in a timely fashion!!!

I'm sorry these people are putting you through this. I don't get people sometimes, how hard is it to put in the mail? Unbelievable. I agree with the person that suggested you get in touch with these people. So annoying, hopefully it resolves itself quickly so you can move on.

Sorry to hear about your rsvp troubles - people have no excuse because everyone know how frustrating it is to throw a party and people don't repsond. As far as the bp not responding maybe they don't think they have to. I had one bm mail the rsvp back with just her boyfriends name on it. I teased her about it and she said I didn't think the bp needed to rsvp.

Yikes Darlene, I don't blame you. My RSVP date didn't even come and I get stressed over why people can't put an ALREADY stamped tiny envelope in the mail! Hang in there, we all know there are going to have to be phonecalls made. I hope you had a great trip though!!!!

None of my bridal party RSVPed either and we are still mising 28 RSVP's. If they dont have a seat at the wedding because I forgot they ORALLY told me they were coming, tough ****.

I can totally relate. I am getting married October 1st. i only have received 52 rsvps (110 people). We invited 280 guests (170 invites). I am disgusted by people.--We received 2 rsvps on Sat. Our response date is 9/1

That would be fine IF one member of FH's BP wasn't married with a stepchild. Sure, he is coming, but what about the wife and kid??? He first said the entire family was coming, then said they couldn't afford it b/c they have a wedding in NY the first weekend in October and can't afford to fly back and forth for the two weddings. Then he said they would come for the first wedding and just stay for the week until our wedding, then he said the kid can't miss that much school. He changes his freakin' mind with the wind. So I have NO idea if 3 people are coming, or 1 person is coming because I don't have the darn RSVP.

As for the other missing BP member (again his not mine) I don't even know where the guy is! FH didn't have a real address for him, and ultimately told me to mail the invite to his parents house. I don't care how much FH says the guy will actually be here for the wedding. This is the same BP member that we couldn't confirm would be in town for the RD. I arranged the RD around the schedules of the OTHER 3 OOT BP members. Why is this guy being so difficult???
