I registered at Bed, Bath and Beyond today---long sorry

I registered at Bed, Bath and Beyond today---long sorry

My bridal shower is in late May and I have registered at Macy's, but my best registry expereince has been at bed, bath and, beyond

My experience at Macy's has not been the best (as far as customer service and diversity of items). I have gone to three different stores and everything is pretty much the same. There are not many options to choose from. Of course, I am not even thinking about going to Herald Square . It is not worth it!!!!! I must be honest and tell you I did not find the online addition to their registration any better either.

When I registered at Macys the lady told me they would call me when the cards announcing our registry arrive....that was a month ago and I am still waiting They kept trying to 'push' the Macy's card to save 15% on items, but if my guests don't have a card they won't be able to save 15%

The last Macy's store I went to was the one in Sunrise Mall. It was like 6:00PM on a Saturday and the store was empty. It was really difficult to find a bridal consultant to help me. When we (my girl and I) finally found the lady....she tried to get me to sign up for a Macy's card After explaining to her I was not interested about three times, she was like 'why not'. Not that it was any of her business, but , I told her Macy's was not my main registry. I only registered at Macy's for the comforters, some glasses, luggage, and a couple of other items. I also told her my main registry would be at Bed, Bath and Beyond because they have more variety. Besides, they have the 20% off cupon all the time and my guests will save on items. You know what she said.....'well our manager is pushing me to get people to sing-up you can always cancel it later I was sooo upset I told her more good things about BBB and she then said.....' Would you mind telling my manager what you are saying...in this way he will understand what I have been telling him' She actually picked-up the phone ready to call and I was like.....'I don't think so'

I am so dissapointed with Macy's On a good note, I went to BBB today and registered. They were absolutely great and very helpful. They even provide you with a Bridal and Girft Registry catalog in color to provide you with ideas. The lady was extremely helpful and showed me evreything in the store. At Macy's the lady only told me in which floor and section the items were, she didn't take the time to show me. At BBB the lady was well informed about items, and had a lot of patience with me. Do you know they can add all the dinning (extra) accesories for you (like potatoe pealer, cooking spoons, etc...) and then you just delete the ones you don't like? I loved that!!!!

Did you registered with Bed, Bath and Beyond? What has been your experience? Where else did you registered at?

Sorry about the lenght ladies.....

BBB is my main registry for the reasons you said. We didnt really have any problems with macys, but their prices constantly fluctuate (their 'sale price' is usually the same as the regular price elsewhere, but occasionally they have items listed at the full price! i dont want someone to pay $300 for a $150 item just because they had bad timing). also, macys has a lot of stuff online that they dont have in stores which is frustrating. we only have our overflow of what BBB didnt have (a few pieces of our china that BBB didnt have, our bedding, silverware, etc)

Sorry you had such a bad experience at Macy's! FH and I registered at the Macy's at the Monmouth Mall in NJ (where FH lives) and it was really great--the people were really nice and helpful and they had a nice big housewares section at that one! I guess it really does depend what you're looking for and what kind of service you get at each different store location!

We registered at BBB and it was the WORST experience ever!!! They do have a lot of great stuff so we kept the registry but we dont go to the store to add more stuff-we do it online. I posted about it awhile back-I had to go home and have 2 large margaritas just to relax!!!!!

Actually, I had the exact opposite experience!

I registered at macys at Roosevelt Field and was treated like royalty. The bridal consultant reviewed my zapping selections, helped to add and subtract, offered wonderful suggestions, and also gave me a full color catalog when I hit the aisles to zap.

On the other hand, at BBB the people could have cared less about me, and really weren't that helpful at all.

I guess it really depends who the bridal consultant is. I am happy after today

Sorry you had such a bad experience in Macys. Other than finding out our regular dishes were being discontinued, we have had a great experience there. I highly suggest the one in Roosevelt Field. They are super nice in the registry section and very helpful. I am not sure where you live and if it is a schlep but it might be worth the drive out. We also registered or shouldi say I registered at BBB. My experience was fine. Only went there once, the rest I have done online. Cant complain either way, Good luck

BBB, Macys, and Target!

Loved BBB & Target. Hated Macys too.

Macys: The ladie was def half slow. She didnt know anything. I too had to wait forever for my cards to come.

Target/BBB: Loved loved loved them. They both had people on hand and so nice. We also recieved cards right away. I mean we have to write Nick and Jess on them but who cares. They only think I hear bad about Target is the return policy. If people follow the registry it will be ok.

I total agree Macys hands down stinks and BBB is the best!!!!

BBB is our main registry as well. When we went I didn't really like the woman that was helping us. She kept insisting on us registering for fine china when I told her my aunt was giving us hers. I was getting really annoyed by her.

The Macys we went to was really empty and naturally no one was sitting at the bridal registry desk. Eventually someone was able to call for the person. We just went around zapping what we wanted.

BBB is where I had my registry, registering there was great b/c guests could order just about everything on the internet or go into the store. The only downfall was that things go to clearance/discontinued quickly. Otherwise, they give you cash back on any of your items on your registry if you return

I had to go to Macys about 5 times in order to get the registry cards for my friends wedding! And No one ever knew where they were! Meanwhile the whole time they were sitting in a book on the desk every time I went! Was very frustrating! I haven't registered at bed bath and beyond yet but I have heard nothing but wonderful things! Only thing that I have heard is how when people buy other items when they are buying whats on your registry sometimes the cashier doesnt exit the registry and their purchases get added to your online registry. Not a bad thing, but I know many brides that have snooped at their registry (like i would lol) and seen some random item on there and either A) got excited cause it was something cool thinking they got something extra or B) were like what the hell is that doing on there lol.

wow, that really does suck. I HATE when they try to do that to me with the credit cards.

I registered at BBB and i found it very helpful. Besides the fact that i had my mom, the lady helping us, and myself trying to pick out china patterns and show them to me all at once, i was a little overwhelmed. Other than that, i am in love with the store.

I do love Macy's but since they tend to be a little higher priced, i went with JcPenney. They seem to have everything i really liked and even though at first you dont get that personal attention as you would with BBB, the people in the store were still very friendly with helping us. We went to the JcPenney in Roosevelt Field.

I am sorry you had that experience there, i know how it feels. At JcPenney they also gave me a huge package when i told the lady i was registering. It was as if i told her it was my birthday and i was going to give her money lol she came back from the room behind the counter with this giant gift bag, full of magazines and a huge wedding planner, and as many registry cards as i asked for. They were very helpful.

I hope you have a better experience between now and the shower. :)

I had the same exact experience. Macy's doesnt seem like they have much variety. FH and I went there and set it up, and were just given the scanner to go scan items. However, we went to BBB the next day and set up registry there and the lady working there was soooo nice and helpful!! She went through everything with us and was very patient! We got soooo many things on our registry that day!!
So when i got home I took everything off the macys registry since they have everything at BBB. I guess I should close the registry completely lol

we're registered at bbb as our main registry. We did the same thing you did.....went to macy's and it was just not a great experience, it was very overwhelming because everything was scattered all over the place. And then the next day we went to BBB and registered for EVERYTHING there....it was great....we actually deleted most of the stuff off of our macys registry. I just kept our china and a couple of other things on there. If you have a macys card....you get like 5% back on the purchases made off the registry for you (I already had a card though). I love that at BBB, you can return gifts for cash
