Im usually awesome at keeping things a surprise. Yesterday I was walking home and stopped in a jewelry store before FH came to get me. I was looking at watches for his wedding gift. I left there very very happy about what I found and for what price.
So I started telling FH how I love this jeweler - hes great and hes giving me such a great price .. So FH is like well what is it? And Im like well Im not telling you Im just saying he has great prices in there so you can go get my wedding gift from him too
Then he was like - just tell me what mine is I dont like surprises .. Im like Im not telling you babe - you'll have to wait.
2 minutes go by ---
I say to him ... Its so crazy how a watch can be that expensive in some stores and this ...
and then I just pause and HATED myself and he just starts laughing ..

oh no! i'm so sorry. i did the same thing too - but i'm so bad at keeping surprises.
i want to buy FH a watch. his mom called me asking if he would like a certain watch for his birthday. i said yes and then panicked and called her back and told her about my intention to buy him a watch.
...and then i told FH the story...
eta: i've since asked me 800 details about what kind of watch he wants. i'm the worst.
