I said YES to the dress!! Davids Bridal in Massapequa RAVE!!
SO my journey started at Lillette's in Bellmore. I came in and Carol was very nice, however being plus size I only had about 4 choices to try on, none of which were really what I was looking for.
I was discouraged and dissapointed and just wanted to go home. Instead, I called up Davids Bridal in Massapequa since we were right down the block, I was a little weary because DB in Westbury is not very friendly. I got on the phone and a kind and bubbly man answered and said come on in!
I got there, and immediatley was greeted at the front desk (shocker, I'm never greeted at Westbury DB). I immediatley felt right at home. I was helped by Erica (who helped me get in and out of the dresses) and an awesome employee Dawon. I came in with one dress picked out from their magazine, however Dawon went and picked out 5 or 6 more that he thought would look good on me. The one I picked out was a little too old for me (i'm only 26, I looked about 40!). I tried the next one on that Dawon picked out and immediatley it was the one! My mom and grandma cried, and Erica and Dawon were in shock. They put a beautiful vail on me that matched perfectly. I went with the Strapless Lace Fit-and-Flare Gown with Side Split in Ivory.
I tried on about 7 in total, but I could not stop thinking about the 'one'. I went back into that one after I tried the rest on and didn't want to get out of it!
I have to tell you - Go to DB in Massapequa. They are absolutely amazing. My mom even went next door to Panera bread and got them all coffee and cookies. By the end of the night, they were calling my mom 'Mom'. I felt like I was part of their family.
What an amazing experience, I wouldn't have done it any other way!!
