I saw

I saw

a dog get hit by a car this morning. It has upset me so much. And the A-hole didnt even stop to check on the dog. The dog was still alive and it limped over to the sidewalk and was crying so much. I followed the car that hit him and pulled up next to the car and told the guy that he hit the dog. He just shook his head and left. I got his license plate number and type of car.
I do work with someone who lives a block away from where this dog was hit and I am waiting till she comes in to see if she know who owns the dog. It was a dalmation looking dog so it wasnt a small dog that the guy couldnt see. I saw when it ran out into the street. I am sure he saw it too.

I tried calling 311 and they told me they dont take those type of calls. Does anyone know who should i call?

I am so upset over this!

im surprised abotu 311. they didnt recommend who to call? do you know where the dog is now?

When I called 311 I had asked who I should call and she said she didnt know. I mentioned animal control and they said if the dog was dead the would come and pick it up. But the dog wasnt dead. I probably should have pulled over and see where the dog went and rang the bell of the house. But then i wouldnt have been able to get the license plate number. I dont know- I just feel so helpless.

Where is the dog? I would bring it to an animal hospital PRONTO! Is it still there? Seriously if no one is able to I will go get the dog myself and bring it to an animal hospital if it's still out there. Let me know ASAP...

awww omg i feel so bad!!!!!!!! I saw this happen once and I had to pull over because I was hysterical for this little puppy....someone else pulled over and drove him to the animal hospital - people are fkn aholes sometimes - HAVE A HEART!!!

Future MrsH... I am FM'ing you my phone number, I live in Queens too so I can go try to find this dog if you tell me where it is, I am sick over this. Call me if you can tell me where you saw it and I will bring it to a vet in Bayside.

He looked like he was running back to his house. The girl I work with who lives over there just came in and I am going to talk to her now

i remember for the 5 hour course (i'm drawing a blank here on the name..the one to reduce insurance) they had said that if you were to hit a dog or an animal, you would literally have to go from house to house and ring each bell to see who the owner is.

i hope the Doosh bag gets into an accident and someone runs

I just spoke with my coworker and she is sending her daughter to go look for the dog. If she cant find him she is going to ring bells to try to find out about the dog and to give the owner the license plate number.

I will update when I find out more.

This is so sad!!! I'm almost in tears about that assshole!! I probably would have cried right then and there.

ETA: You did good by getting his license plate #! I'm sure something can be done.
