Saw it at SONY Lincoln Plaza theatres last night. It's shattering. I felt as if I had run a marathon by the time it was over. Some parts are very funny, and other parts are just devastating.
I'm a big fan of his work, though I do think that Michael Moore's general obnoxiousness sometimes gets in the way in this film. I think he could tone down some of the sarcastic narration - but this is a Michael Moore documentary and so I should expect it.
People will debate the validity of many of his claims and he does go out of his way to provide source material for much of what he says. I wasn't able to make some of the leaps that he was asking me to make - but I left the theatre very thankful that this film was made and that certain questions were being asked of this administration and the news media. Regardless of whether people agree on the issues the film raises - it's the asking of the questions that in my opinion is the most valuable contribution.
I highly recommend it. . . I haven't stopped thinking about it all day.

I want to see it, but not tonight- it's been a long week for me and I feel like I'm too worn out to give it the thought and attention it should have.
I too find MM a bit obnoxious but Bowling for Columbine was really riveting, so I am interested in seeing this movie.

yeah, i loved roger and me and bowling for columbine - but i remember thinking that his attacking **** clark in columbine was a bit extreme. . . this is a bit of a departure - he paints with some broad strokes, but he goes to great lengths to document everything.
the footage of the 7 minutes of bush sitting reading a children's book after being told of the 2nd plane hitting the wtc is just shattering. . . i can't think of another word for it.

I can't wait to see it. I certainly appreciate what Moore does, but I do find him to be a little self righteous at times. Then again at least he is out there asserting himself and asking questions. Which is more then I can say for a lot of people in power positions.

I have heard that there are very graphic pictures and video in the film. I am a lightweight when it comes to that stuff. How graphic was it?

I think this is the most important part, people can disagree about Bush, or Republicans and Democrats, but you need to question your gov't, and you need to make those questions heard.
I will be seeing it this weekend, and I can't wait!

um, there's some pretty graphic stuff in the film. . . some war footage that isn't shown on US networks. I'm a lightweight when it comes to that stuff too, but it's not gratuitous - it's war footage.

i want to see it too...i feel that there are just some movies you need to see and his are those kind of movies. yeah, his personality is hard to take, but he has the balls to say what a lot of people are feeling and that needs to be respected.

I couldn't have said it better. I said it after I saw Bowling for Columbine that people have a resposibility to themselves and everyone around them to see that film. I STILL think about his movies. If they make the mind go into motion, they are important, as far as I'm concerned. I am extremely eager to see this film.

This film is very good. It makes you approach things you think you know from a different perspective...alot of times people in this country just go with the flow and take what we hear from people in power as being the truth without always questioning the validity of their statements and actions...I think that's what is so important about his films, he makes you think outside the box that the media shoves down our throats at times...I also find him obnoxious many times but I thought it was great when he was walking around asking the congressman who are so willing to send other people's children off to war, but have non of their children serving in the military, to sign their children up for military service.

we just saw it tonight. it does drain you. I think he makes a lot of great points. personally i hope it makes the people who would normally vote for bush think about their position a little. but that's just me.
MM wrote a book in '01 (Pre-9/11, enron scandal, I think) called Stupid White Men. It has a lot of similar points (family connections, etc). and more. If you found this movie interesting, read the book.
I really liked Bowling for Columbine, although it did make me want to move to Canada..

I think the 'family ties' things is kind of a strech but I dont know enough about it to comment further...M Moore irritates the crap out of me, but I wanna see the movie, because like the others said, it makes you ask questions....

Bowling for Columbine has a lot of false information! Sorry i am not seeing it...A lot of the families and people involved were upset over this film!
As for this new one...i will watch the boot leg when i am bored

I haven't seen it yet, but I do occasionally listen to Air America on AM radio... They often talk about the connections between The Bush Families, The BinLadens and other Saudi ties - they are in business...I am no political expert, I am just interested in hearing what they have to say.
I am going to see the movie next weekend...

Re: I saw fahrenheit 9/11 last night
I was all for seeing it, and was planning on going.....and then I realized that I would be watching graphic video footage of the war in Iraq a couple of months before my brother is going over there to fight again for the 3rd time.......and I think it just might be too much for me. especially when the commercials alone brought tears to my eyes last night so i'm going to hold off on seeing it for w hile...till my brother is out of the marines I guess!

i went to see the movie last night. it was scarey, sad and enlightening. there was some graphic footage, and i did cover my eyes a few times, but i am very sensitive to material like that. i hope everyone goes to see the movie. i left the theater so angry and wanting to do something to change the country for the better. i just don't know what that 'something' is.

Re: I saw fahrenheit 9/11 last night
I want to see the film as well - I thought Bowling for Columbine was very thought-provoking but I also take Michael Moore's documentaries with a grain of salt. I have read that much of his editing and telling of the stories are not accurate. That they are really just his version of the truth - so not really documentaries. More like fictionalized films based on real events.
