just wanted to remind everyone to cherish every moment with your significant other. So sad.

It was extremely well made. Luckily, I didn't know anyone who was there that day, but my FI does work in the city, so it's scary. It's just a reminder of how we should cherish those around us.

My father's friend is depicted in the movie, he worked with the crew to make sure the authenticity was maintained and respected and then donated all of his earnings to the foundation. Many of the guys who it is based on participated in the making in some way, so I wouldn't be too concerned about 'the hype' or 'frenzy.'

Re: I saw the World Trade Center movie tonight.....
I may be going to see it this Saturday with my mom. I'm just not sure if I want to see it in a theatre or wait to see it at home.
As far as the 'hype'.....
My dad was a Battalion Chief killed that day, when the south tower fell. And when I first heard of the movie I too felt that it was too soon. But my mom saw it a different way... it will be good for those who were not directly involved to be reminded of how bad it really was and to truly not forget.
People are still curious and they derserve to see some details if they wish to. Now if some guy is outside selling photos and tee shirts, that's another story.
We've gotten a lot of answers over the past five years... and believe it or not pieces of the puzzle still come to us so long after. So maybe this movie may add a few more peices. Glad to hear it was well made and not Hollywood cheese.
ps... my dad's body was found, completely in tact, seven days later.

I was there that day (used to work 2 blocks away) and it was awful. Thats the last movie I would see. I think its horrible that they are making money off of a trajedy.

I'm so sorry for your loss! I agree with your mom about the film being a good reminder of what it was like on and around that day...and the way the country pulled together to support each other. We will never forget that day, but we sometimes slip into taking things for granted again and not recognizing all of our blessings.
It's amazing that five years have already passed...it is still very real to me.

Re: I saw the World Trade Center movie tonight.....
I saw the movie and thought that it was really well done. I did find it to be emotionally draining and at one point almost walked out because I thought it would be too much. I worked down the block from the trade center so it just brought back that day. I did not loose anyone in the WTC but did recently loose my father so maybe that is why.

My FH and I talked about it and are NOT going to see it. FH's uncle was a NYC fire fighter and died on 09/11 in the WTC. It would just bring back the months of anguish we went through-waiting to see if they would find him. They did-after 6 months.

Re: I saw the World Trade Center movie tonight.....
I just got back from seeing the movie. I worked one black away from the WTC at City Hall and ran for my life that day along w/my co-workers. I know many ppl that were killed that day and even though it's almost five years later, it's still fresh in my mind.
I didn't really want to see the movie because I felt that it wasn't right to make a Hollywood image out of such a tragedy. I also felt weird seeing it today after the recent London incidents.
FH really wanted to see it, so I gave in. It's a tear jerker but extremely well made. You walk away from the movie realizing that you need to step back and appreciate everything you have in life, don't stay mad at someone and don't forget to kiss all your loved ones and tell them you love then...you just never know. We all need a reminder of this once in awhile.
I am happy that I saw the movie, even though it brought back memories of that day. The courage and bravery of all the emergency workers was honored in this movie.....I would recommend the movie.

I can't see that movie.. It is too soon, especially after what happened in Londaon yesterday.
I lived through 9-11 with my ex (NYPD, now FDNY) I really don't ever want to go through that again... even through memories....
Not knowing if he was alive or dead was the worst 20 hours of my life

I'm so sorry for your loss. That was an awful day!! I don't think I could bring myself to see that movie. I was there that day, used the ATM in WTC at 8:20 that morning on my way into work (across the street) Felt the building shake and spent the rest of the day trying to get home and figure out what was happening. FH wants to go see it and I told him he could go with his friends b/c I can't do it. I start to cry when I see the commercials.

WOW....I am so sorry for your loss! I know several people who died that day...no one that I was so close to but it was hard seeing people I am close to lose loved ones. I don't think I can see it - it's too soon. The commercials alone make me want to vomit and cry. I just think it is way too soon. My friend lost her sister that day - she worked at the top of one of the towers - she is completely appalled by the movie and will not see it. I don't blame her.

Re: I saw the World Trade Center movie tonight.....
I'm going to see it tomorrow with a friend. I was a volunteer ambulance chief when it happened and my ex was a vollie fireman who went down there on his own to help out. (FH is also a vollie Fireman). I want to see it because I want to understand what the people down there went through. I know alot of people that were there and I also know a few that lost their lives that day. I think it is important for people to see exactly what people went through that day and how they risked their lives to help others.
All gave some.....Some gave ALL that day! 9-11-01 We will NEVER FORGET!
