I may be going to see it this Saturday with my mom. I'm just not sure if I want to see it in a theatre or wait to see it at home.

As far as the 'hype'.....

My dad was a Battalion Chief killed that day, when the south tower fell. And when I first heard of the movie I too felt that it was too soon. But my mom saw it a different way... it will be good for those who were not directly involved to be reminded of how bad it really was and to truly not forget.

People are still curious and they derserve to see some details if they wish to. Now if some guy is outside selling photos and tee shirts, that's another story.

We've gotten a lot of answers over the past five years... and believe it or not pieces of the puzzle still come to us so long after. So maybe this movie may add a few more peices. Glad to hear it was well made and not Hollywood cheese.

ps... my dad's body was found, completely in tact, seven days later.

I am so sorry for your loss But for me I am just nor ready to see it, it's just too soon. I saw the trailer for it before another movie and I cried the entire time. I just can't do it

I would like to see it, i dont really think it is too soon... for those that directly suffered i can see how it will always be too soon, but for most of America who was not there, not in NY, not in the City, not knowing anyone invovled in it, it is not too soon for them.. i really feel many have just forgotten the number of families hurt by the events that day, all for what? a truly senseless well planned in advance attack! Those terrorists knew what they were doing yrs in advance and it never hit them in the heart knowing how many innocent people they will be hurting, crushing, and tormenting... those that didnt make it, those that did make it, and the families and friends of everyone involved! And I think people need to be reminded that there are truly heartless, cruel, vendictive, hateful, extremist people that are out there and what they are willing to do just to be hateful!

And to those posted who lost loved ones that day know I am very sorry for your loss and I will never forget the price you've paid for such hateful people in this world

Re: I saw the World Trade Center movie tonight.....

My fh was NYPD and was there from early that day before it happend, and never had more then 3-4 hrs off a day untill March 23, 2002 (our vacation).. After about a week and a half they sent him over to fresh kills where all he did day in and day out was sort for body parts, and personal belongings.. I remeber how hard it was when he would tell me about finding someones wallet and having to look throught it to find the persons ID and pictures of wife and kids would be in there.. Even thought it was 5 yrs ago, my heart still aches for all of those people. I learned a lot when it happened, and it really put my life in perpspective.. I just don't think I'm ready to actaully watch what I've visulized in my head so many times over and over again.. I'm soooo sorry for everyone who has posted that has lost a loved one. My heart goes out to you.

Thank you girls-I understand why others want to see it, we just cannot. We will never get to see my FH's Uncle Bobby again, but to honor him and all of those courageous individuals is the way it should be.

Re: I saw the World Trade Center movie tonight.....

I'm not sure if I want to see it...... I was in the NYPD academy when 9/11 occurred and it was a real kick in the butt as how my career would begin. I spent 18+ hour days there for a month straight. I work with ESU and K-9 who were looking for Survivors at the time, and even helped arrest a reporter from CNN who snuck onto a nearby building a was video taping the whole thing...

Every once in a while, I remember walking back and forth to my post and seeing the 'Missing' posters on the walls of buildings, and bus stops, and everyday it got worse and worse. There were more and more faces, and family members just waiting and praying...

Being down there reall makes you think how important each day is. And when I can't decide on something silly such as which paper to use for the wedding programs, I stop and think... I'm marrying the man of my dreams, and that's what's important...

It wasn't until this past summer I went down there for the first time since 2001. And even now I don't want to be there..

As for the movie..... I'm still undecided........

Just reading this thread is upsetting so I do not think I will see the movie. It's still too soon for me. I worked a few blocks from the WTC and saw people jumping off the building rather than stay inside and burn to death

A classmate was killed that day - Andrew Zucker - and it's still too fresh in my mind. I still hate to see that clip of the huge gray debris cloud and people running down the streets looking for cover since that was me and my coworkers at the time

Someone I loved dearly died in 9-11. He was a firefighter. I wouldn't be typing this now if that didn't happen. I would have been married with children right now. I NEVER want to see that movie.
