I seriously burned my finger, help!

I burned my D@MN finger! I was adjusting the temp on the stove and a big bubble of boiling water came up and plopped on my finger. What else is good for a burn besides ice?

is the burn open or closed? Blister?? If its a blister dont open it, just keep it cool (that helps with the pain), and clean. I hope you feel better. Burns hurt like he11, I burned my thumb on my straightening iron once and the pain was unbearable!

It's totally closed, so that's good. I'll be alright, it just hurts SOOO bad!(Amazing I can still type, huh? haha) What happened was that the water got under my ring and trapped for a second before I could get cold water on it, so I have a burn in the shape of my ring!

Liquid scald burns (thermal burns). Run cool tap water over the burn for 10 to 20 minutes but do not use ice. Remove any jewelry or clothing at the site of the burn.

Cover the burn with a clean cloth soaked in cool water.
Do not put any salve or medication on the burned area.
Do not put ice or butter on the burned area.

Cold water helps with the pain. Dont leave your finger on ice for too long (no more than a few seconds maybe once or twice) but just keep the burn clean and closed if possible. There is really nothing you can do for a closed burn like that besides that. That must hurt like he11, under your ring! Ouch! Hope you feel better!

There's not much you can do, take a Motrin to help the pain.

I usually put Noxzema on a burn (just like sunburn) and it helps cool and soothe the pain. Maybe you can try that.

I unfortunately read this AFTER I applied ice and neosporin! But, I tried soaking my hand in tap water and that helped sooooooo much. It still hurts, but not that burning that I had for the past 2 hours. Thanks ladies!

any time you burn your finger....put a cut tomato on the burn. Its a trick that chefs use and I have used it and it works. Of course, if the burjn is too bad then nothing but going to the hospital will help!
