I seriously feel like

I seriously feel like

most of my family considers my wedding a burden. I have one cousin other than my parents that is excited for my wedding. Everyone else just keeps saying 'why does it have to be in NY?' NY isn't that far!!

Yes.. believe me... I know. Most of my family lives in Brooklyn/ Jersey /Staten Island.. so I always get the 'WHY LONG ISLAND??' questions. Boo Hoo for them

Dont stress.. people will always have things to say no matter where/when your wedding is. I've only heard great theings about JT, so Im sure your guests will realize that it was worth the trip!

I know. My cousin keeps complaining to me that she has another wedding in September so now she 'has to go to two weddings'. It hurts, cause I don't want her to come cause she feels she HAS to, I want her to come cause she WANTS to. I definitely feel differently to her after planning my wedding.

Aww hang in there!!! I honestly belive that you see another side of people when a wedding is in the air!!

Re: I seriously feel like

My family did that to my cousin, who had her wedding in North Carolina (where she and her husband live). People truly don't think before they speak and have no conception of filtering their thoughts. I'm sorry that they're making you feel that way. You certainly don't deserve it.

I know it hurts, Beth. Try not to let them get to you. You are going to have an amazing wedding.

You should have your wedding where it's convenient for you. You're doing all the planning! Should you have it somewhere else and then stress about traveling to and from another destination to get it all done.

Those people who say that have no clue about what it takes to plan a wedding.

Re: I seriously feel like

NY instead of where?? Boston??? Why should you drive 6 hours to get to Boston instead of 3 1/2 to get to NY?? Geez, NY is halfway between where you are and where they are!!

I really hate people sometimes!!

Hang in there Beth.

i got stuff like that on the other side and we found out the hard way that having a lot of OOT invites doesn't mean having a lot of OOT GUESTS!

I feel your pain!

Sweetie, I feel your pain.

It hurts when people are so nasty and rude to you, when all you want is to share your special day with them.

I know this sounds weird, but I think it is better to be sensitive then to be an unfeeling person that never gets sad.

I think people are so rude , i thought that was funny WHY LONG LONG ISLAND.. maybe you should have checked with everyone first if JT was okay with them! I have been to 3 affairs at JT it was great they give you SOOOOOO much food enjoy! Everyone is not happy they just have to drop comments!

I am so sorry that you're going through this! The people that we're inviting know better than to [ull something like this with me...I'd tell 'em to go fly a kite...like I said before, those that truly care will be there and will enjoy themselves and be happy for you...for those that find it a burden - screw 'em!!!!!!!!!

Aww...I'm sorry.

It will be all over soon, and you'll have all these great memories from your wedding day, the day you marry your best friend, and you wont remember all these little heartaches!

I am sorry your family is giving you such a hard time. Don't let them get you down! I am sure when your day is here, you will have such a wonderful time with your DH - their complaints will be a million miles from your mind.

Re: I seriously feel like

Thanks, girls! MD, where I live is 8 hours away from Boston, so I couldn't have had the wedding there. If I had it the most convenient for me (in MD), then my family would have to travel 8 hours instead of 3.5. Maybe my family needs a quick lesson in geography.
