Can you talk to your Gyno.? I'm sure he/she can tell you the healthiest way to not get it on your day!I have heard of women who take the pill constantly so that they never get their period. Personally I don't think that is too healthy, your body has a period for a reason.

Call your doctor! If you are using Birth control you can totally control when you will get it. My brother is an OB/GYN- it is not unhealthy if you do it once.

Yes I feel for all you ladies that might be in the same sistuation as me.... I have to call my OBGYN to see what I should do..... I dont want it for the wedding or the honeymoon... maybe with stress and the flying to Hawaii it might delay it.... thanks for your support

Definitely talk to your ob/gyn - I have mine under control so that I get it the week that I come back!

definitley talk to your OB/GYN. they should be able to help. i do caution you - i skipped my period twice by skipping the placebo week and diving right into a new pack. i skipped my period when it was supposed to come, but then i had it for two straight weeks!!!! everybody's body is different, so just be prepared!!

I got married February 15th of this year and I was due to have my period on my wedding day. I called my OBGYN and since I am on the pill, I was able to skip my period by starting a new pack instead of taking the placebos. It worked perfectly. I just skipped getting my period that month and I get it a week earlier now than I used to but I had no problems. I recommend doing that if you can, however, I wouldn't do it all the time. Like the other ladies said, you are supposed to get your period for a reason.

It is totally safe and reasonable to skip the placebo week in your pill pack or put on a new patch after 3 weeks without a week off. The period you get when you are on the patch/pill is not a real period because you haven't ovulated. It is just withdrawl bleeding from being off the hormones. These birth control methods were designed with the week off/period week so women would find them more 'natural' not because you need to have that bleeding week.

my GYN said that it is completely safe to skip your period for 6-12 months!!!! just keep skipping the placebos...or keep putting patches on...

I use the patch and have skipped...no problem...also your lining doesn't build up into 2 weeks worth...its the safe amount...it just doesn't shed...

I've skipped mine once or twice, but six months?? I could definitely handle only having my period twice a year.

I'm planning on getting it...guess I'll just have to suffer through it. Oh well. I'll take some midol and drink some green tea. I'm afraid of messing w/my hormones even more by trying not to get it...I'm afrait it'll prolong the PMS all the way through it

i've also heard it's completely safe to skip the placebos and miss your period. i did it last month and had absolutely no problems. i've read that actually it's unhealthy to have your period every month. something about women today having so many more b/c we are not pregnant all the time.
