I should have lied to the priest

I should have lied to the priest

When FH and I met with the priest at our church he would not give us a full mass because we admitted that we do not attend mass every sunday.

I tried to call the rectory today to say that we 'changed our mind' and would like to have a full mass.

The lady wouldn't do it and said we have to speak with the priest.

So, I left him a message saying the same thing, but now I'm scared for when he calls back!!

I'm totally letting it go to voicemail

dont-- tell him it would really mean a lot to you to get this sacrament with a full mass and you understand the importance of it.

You should tell him how important it is to you to have a full mass and that you and FH are going to attend mass more often. Sometimes it takes getting married to see how important religion is in your life.

The only thing is that he said to us, 'start coming to church on Sundays and we can talk about changing it to a mass.'

He wants it now, not later.

Just because I don't go to church every Sunday, it doesn't mean that I am not religious and that I don't deserve a full mass

Well, the easiest solution would be to start going to mass every Sunday. Then he won't have any reason to not perform a full mass for you!

We are planning to after the holidays. FH works on Sundays, so it isn't easy.

I should have just waited till then to call.

What about the 5pm Saturday mass? That 'counts' and sometimes I find that one easier to make.

I forgot to mention that FH also works:

M-F 9am-6pm
Sat 6:30-after dark landscaping
Sundays 8-after dark landscaping
He also has school Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday

Hence why we are waiting until after the holidays. Schools will be over and landscaping will be done for the season!

If he calls back and says fine, great.

If not, we will start going after the holidays and call him back then I guess!

I know its hadr...
That is why going to Church is a Sacrifice u have to make with God if ur committed (this is what they told us in Church...)
Fh works
M-T 10am-1:30pm
F 10-5
Sa- Sometimes he works.. sometimes hes off.. if he works he works 10-5 or 10-11
Su- 10-10...
I know its hard for him, but I guess we are just really religious and like/love going to Mass....
But regardless of it, Stills a BIG Sacrafice...

This. FH and I started going to mass more once he started the RCIA process and it means so much more to us now than 'just going'.
