I Stink!

So... I'm a BM in my old college roommates wedding, which I was super excited about until I found out I was moving out of the country. So I'm using my mid-tour to come back for her wedding, which is why I'll be here so long without a break.

Anyway... she sent an email out about ordering the dresses, and I'm like well crap, I obviously cant go get measured somewhere so I'll do it myself. Lo and behold, I find out I'm going to the states for a little bit, and I was going to see the MOH and I figured I would take care of everythign there. So i go see the MOH on my last day in the states and although she could help me with my measurements, she didn't have a printer for the form and I find out I have to pay by check and not a CC, aand I'm like CRAP! I have the money, but not a check, and my friend was like I'm sorry I can't cover it, just send everythign in when you get back to Greenland.

The whole reason I didn't do that in the first place is because mail can take WEEKS to get back to the states from here.

Long story short, the bride emailed me this weekend letting me know that I'm the last one to get my order in and they want to order soon bc the place thats doing the dress is closing for the chinese new year and if we don't get it in they may not come in on time. I felt like crap for being the one everyone b*tches about, ya know? The solution ended up being that I gave my measurements over the phone and her MOM is going in to pay for the dress and then I'm sending out a 2nd check to her....

Way for me to be the terrible and annoying BM, and wow this ended up being a really long rant... oops!

I know I did put forth the effort, but I guess in my career I'm used to hearing, 'I don't want the excuses, I want it done' so I just feel so bad that she had to call me up herself.

And yeah, getting mail here is so easy, but sending mail back out is hell! The plane comes twice a week, but the mail will sit in NJ unti they sort it. AND if someone writes the word Greenland on the package it immediately takes an extra month to get here lol.

That's ridiculous! Well.. honestly there's not much you can do and it's not your fault there's a barrier. You do the best you can and that's it.

Like I said.. it's almost impossible to get my friends to come 25 miles... overseas just to try on a dress for my wedding? Yea.. never happening. Obviously your a good friend.

You definitely do not stink.....your doing your best!!!! It isn't your fault that this is becoming so difficult, I wouldn't stress over it!
