Background:

I was told by my bridal shop when I ordered the BM gowns the dressed should be in 'by Halloween time' when I ordered them back in June.

They didnt come in until January. When I inquired about it in November and December, i was told 'oh no, we never said they would come in by Halloween' They told this to all FOUR of my bridesmaids AND myself at different times when they ordered.

Meanwhile, my MOH in Texas orders the SAME dress from a different bridal shop 2 months AFTER WE ordered ours here in NY......and she got hers 4 weeks before the NY girls came in!!! .............................................................................

Nevertheless, if that isnt bad enough. When my BM goes to get fitted and they tell her 'oh you only need a hem' so she says, 'okay when can I pick it up?', They tell her March 5th. (my wedding is 3 days later)

She says cant I pick it up the week before? And they tell her, get this........'Noooooo. In 17 years, weve never had the BM pick up their dresses the week before. its always done a couple days before. If the Bride has a problem with it, tell her to call us'

So, basically your holding my BM's dresses for hostage? LOL Is it REALLY that big of deal or that unusual to get your dress the week before? I have bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner, family coming from out of state....do they really think everything revolves around when they FEEL like making a hem 6 weeks later??????????

Im Sorry. I had to let it out I regret going to this bridal shop SOOOOOOO bad.

Thats crazy! You would think that they would want to accomodate your BM's as much as possible and also free up space in their shop by getting those dresses out!

its so funny b/c my BM's call them up all sweet and nice and they're like 'oh okay then, I guess it cant be ready early, that s ucks', cause theyre not the type at all to argue.

Then I call up the shop and Im like 'LISTEN LADY.................' lol And you just KNOW after I hung up they were like 'this B***** wants her dress early' LOLLOL

But at least now the manager is saying they can have it the WEEK before now that I complained, but thats the earliest i could get.

I hear what you are saying and I'm sorry! Me personally, I'd rather them keep the dress untill last minute, this way they stay neat.

They can keep the dress the last minute if they really had to to keep it neat, but to FIX and Alter it not until the very last minute??? now that boithers me a whole hell of a lot. What if something goes wrong? Id have like 2 days to figure out a solution!

try telling them that you are having a photo shoot with you and your bridsmaids the weekend before the wedding!!! thats my plan

You shouldn't have to explain yourself. You own that dress and you can take it out of there any time you want.

Or you could hurt their rep by revealing their name on LIW

can you pull the dresses from the shop and get alterations somewhere else? or were the alterations already paid for???

I would pull them if I were you and find a good seamstress that could get it done at a decent time frame

Yes that does sounds a bit odd. Every time I have been a bridesmaid throughout the years, I had my dress at least a WEEK before the wedding.

I hate the term bridezilla because you're so NOT.

Their 17 yr bullshitt is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. I missed who it was but I hope it wasn't Bridal Suite of Bay Shore!

At least you're sticking to your guns and not accepting their BS!

Aw, yea dont worry it wasnt Bridal Suite! : ) But thanks I just cant wait to get it all over with........ I was saying to my friend last week, sometimes I cant wait to just sit back in a comfy chair one day with a glass of wine, browsing thru my wedding album, like, yeaaaaaaa, I got thru it just fine : )
