I think I am allergic to the dogs hair

I wake up every morning w/ red, burning itchy eyes and a headache and at night I have red, burning eyes also. I have never had these sort of allergies. I took Allegra today and it helped alot so I guess I'll keep taking that. We bought an air purifier today also. Does that help? Anyone else have these symptoms?

Re: I think I am allergic to the dogs hair

Yes, I had never had them before. While growing up we always had a cat (or more ) in the house.

When we got our calico cat (maybe I'm just allergic to her) if there is too much hair around I will sneeze.

The red eyes, I believe you are getting is when I touch my cat and the rub my eyes they would get red/dry/itchy.

Re: I think I am allergic to the dogs hair

I have been having really bad allergies since last monday. I think there may be something in the air... My allergies are never bad, but I had to take off work last week.
Hopefully thats what it was for you too!

also ask your Vet about this. For some cases there is a special shampoo you can use on the dog to help prevent the allergies.

I hope it works out OK
