I think I am going to make an awful wife

I think I am going to make an awful wife

All my FI asked was that I go to Waldbaum's and pick up food. Well, easier said than done. At 3pm on a Monday afternoon it took 15 minutes for 3 ppl ahead of me in line to go. I yelled at a woman for breathing on my Bounty...she was hovering over me and the food and I got grossed out. Then, I get home and go to get the food out of the trunk and there must have been grease somewhere cause it ended up all over the bags and my arm. By the time I made it up the 3 floor walk up my arm was bleeding. But, the only thing I complained about was the grease on my purse!! I called the FI and cried over the grease. Now, I have to cook the food...that will be a challenge, too. How do I get the grease off my arm? I tried regular soap and dish soap!!!! Argh, pray for my future DH he needs it!

I am so sorry you had such a bad afternoon. Remember that's just it a bad day....doesn't mean you'll be a bad wife.

After you finish cooking, take a nice bath, have a drink and relax.

You sounds like me only I am worse... I can't cook at all, except basic spaghetti and hotdogs. I don't do laundry because I don't know how. I can't iron because I really don't know how. I feel for my DH because my DH's brother's long time girlfriend always cooks these gourmet meals and is a Martha Stewart expert. I dont have a creative bone in my body.
But, you know what- for 9 months of marriage, we have been managing and doing well. Take out and delivery is on speed dial, I negotiated wash and fold with the dry cleaners downstairs and only pay 50 cents a pound. We have someone who comes in once a week to clean up at a great rate.
I promise DH I will get better but I have to learn. I am no Martha Stewart and the man knew that when he proposed.

Everyone has those kinds of days.....

I personally hate to go grocery shopping.... I think you should only be able to operate a shopping cart if you have a clean driver's license.... and you use turn signals regularly.

As far as the grease, clean grease gets out dirty grease.... use some vaseline on skin. you can try some WD-40 on clothing, though I suggest you patch test the fabric first.

First off I think you need some of these

If your DH didn't think you'd make a good wife he wouldn't have married you. A marriage is more than cooking or keeping a good house or yelling at some freak breathing on your supermarket items (and that is gross so don't feel bad about telling her to stop).

You're having what I think is a bad day. It happens, it's OK and you'll feel better tomorrow.

I'm not sure how to get the grease off, maybe some of the men on this board will know.

As for cooking I agree, ask him if he minds cooking tonight as you had a bad day.

Or just order out for tonight!

And if you want to learn how to cook (but not mandatory!!) you can always pick up some easy foods cookbooks at the supermarket or in Family Circle or Womans Day magazines or on www.recipe.com

Feel better

Cooking is like a foreign language. If Papa John's can't deliver it then it is really not worth having! We send out the laundry, too. I know how to iron...my hair! I tried vasoline on my arm and I still have grease on it. But don't worry, I got the grease off the purse ASAP! But really, who gets bruises going grocery shopping? Be honest!

So I called the FI...way down in Bayville and told him I had used Ivory, Cascade and Dawn on my arm to no avail. Now, I have moved onto vasoline...he said to apply more vasoline, so a whole buncho vasoline later I have a clean and well mosturized arm!! woot woot
TY TY TY
As for the bruises, I can't wear long sleeves because it is 90, but I will tell people I was injured at the gym lifting weights. Sounds much better than beat up by a Waldbaum's bag!! (oy gvalt)

My girl is probably the only girl that I know of that doesn't properly know how to 'shop'.

She hates shopping for clothes. (What girl out there hates shopping?) :D

When she goes grocery shopping... she will wander around aimlessly between the aisles in a dumb stare... and not buy anything. Its actually pretty funny.
