I think I am the only one not happy about A Rod.

Im not happy about A Rod...

I just dont think he meshes with the Yankee team. He is a great player of course but I would have loved to see Tino back instead.

OH I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU. I loved Tino and Soriano.
These past two years of changes really suck. I miss Andy and Roger.
I personally don't think they will be the same

I'm with you. Plus all the base switching now. And, man, that payroll. I like him, too, but not as much as Tino.

Not too upset about A-Rod ... I think he'll bring a lot of excitement to the team, though I believe Soriano is a great loss

But forget A-Rod for a second.. I gotta agree about TINO 100%

I still haven't gotten over losing him .. everytime I see Giambi at first, it just doesn't work for me

I am sick of the media saying that I should be so happy about this. Channel 7 just said..if you are a yankee fan, you are besides yourself today. I am not besides myself..I am not happy!

I literally cried when Tino left. My feelings for the Yankees have never been the same since.

The only thing that is helping me this season at all is the return of Don Mattingly as one of the coaches.

Thank God I'm not the only one feeling this way. I like Soriano and I also agree that A-Rod may not mix well with the team. He won't be the only superstar on the team, and I don't think Steinbrenner wants anyone's ego bigger than his!

My DH is not happy, he is a Mets/Red Sox/anti-Yankee fan. I think he is suffering depression over it.

Same here .. It wasn't so much that I though Tino was adorable (which he is , of course..) I though he was a great 'teammate' and a much better 1st baseman than Giambi .. but good old George, he has to go with the sluggers!! I never thought I could recover after they broke up that team ..

I'd forgotten that Mattingly is back as coach !! Woo hoo! Now THERE is a TRUE ballplayer and geniune person. So humble and so underrated ... Its always saddened me that the Yankees had all their recent success the year after he retired.. talk about a heart breaking I love 'Donnie Baseball'

I'll be a Yankee fan forever, but sometimes you have to question the way their 'owner' operates .. he's nuts

I work with some very RABID Yankee fans, and they actually agree with me that this whole trade may not have been a very good idea, and that it generally just isn't good for baseball. So Noreen, you aren't alone...far from it I think.

Oh do I miss Tino -- I miss that whole team, Brosius, Knoblauch, O'Neill.....oh the memories...

Anyway, What worries me is that the anti-Yankee fans will now say that we really do buy our team. I am very ambivalent about this trade.....not sure, it could mean great things or not so great things but one thing is for sure, I would like to see them win the World Series this yr!

LOL!! Too true. The guy had a meltdown towards the end there.. Everytime we went to a game, the crowd would yell DON'T HIT THE BALL TO KNOBLAUCH!!

Jim & I had lunch at Kitchen Kaberet and sat there saying how wrong it would be to do this trade.. it will come back to haunt them. We like Soriano & Tino. This was Saturday I guess.. anyhow a guy near by us.. gets up walks to our table and starts talking to us.. Big Yankee fan.. he agreed. We ended up having this 10-15min conversation.

This is what I love about the area..!!

Still.. I think this is a mistake. Big one. We shall see.

I totally disagree.. Knob was the anchor of the inflield.. without him.. there have been no worlds series titles... i long for the days of knobby.. the yankees will never win again without him. so sad.........
