I THINK I AM THE SADDEST PERSON IN THE WORLD RIGHT NOW

Original post by Boop2704

My dad is moving to Florida tomorrow. My whole life he has either lived with me, or around the corner from me. Although we have had many differences, in the past 6 months we have become very close and now he is leaving. I just finished making him a care package for his and my stepmothers ride down. I baked them chocolate chip, oatmeal and oatmeal raisin cookies. I also bought things of crackers, candy, gum and chips and put it all into a bag for them. Oh and I packed plenty of tears in there too. I also just wrote a good bye card to them. It was the second hardest thing I ever had to do. I know I am going to be a wreck when I go see him tomorrow, well today, to say good bye. I know he'll only be a two and a half hour plane ride away, but its just the fact that he'll no longer be around the corner.
And the fact that he is getting older and recently had some heart trouble and had a pacemaker installed scares me even more. Just the thought now, of if something happens, I won't be able to just run around to his house. I am so scared, hurt, sad and upset over him leaving. I know I sound selfish, but It just hurts so bad. I know with time things will get easier, but right now, this is truly the second hardest day of my life, the other being the death of my brother. Thank you for letting me share. I really feel better telling someone how I feel. And DH is already sleeping and I don't want to wake him. Thank you and wish me luck tomorrow that I can get throgh the day and the good byes without totally losing it!!

I am so sorry you're so sad. It has to be so tough. You sound like a great daughter

Aww - I know how difficult it is. My sister moved to Greece! I cried my eyes out but you just have to do it and get it all out. The hardest part is the last goodbye. After that you look forward to talking and it doesn't feel as bad. Good luck!

I can sympathize also About three days after our wedding, I moved to London with DH. I haven't been home since April and I'm just so sad and homesick I've had a few bad nights recently where I just cry because I miss everyone so much. DH tries to comfort me. It's so hard to move away from people you are close to (or have them move away from you), but it's that much better when you finally do get to see them!!! And now you have someplace warm to visit!!!

Same here, I moved 3 days after my wedding to Miami, and I became very sentimental, I cry a lot at night and talk to my mom everyday!!! Thank God for jetblue

Re: I THINK I AM THE SADDEST PERSON IN THE WORLD RIGHT NOW

Well, I went to dads last night and started crying as soon as we got there because the moving truck was still there. I purposely waited til late to go over so I wouldn't have to see the truck, but it was still there. It was very emotional. My stepbrother and sister were there and we were all crying. My dad was a bundle of nerves. He was standing out with the movers for a long time, I thought they were going to throw him on the truck. Anyway, they are not leaving til today, things got pushed back a bit, so I am off to officially say good bye in a little while. I sure am going to miss them, but I know they will be happy when everything is settled down in Florida. They will be living in an apartm, ent for a few months because their house is still being built. Well thanks for all your hugs. Its tough, but it will be ok!!!

I know how you feel. I nealy lost it when I found out that my parents where moving to Florida. At the time, I didn't meet my FI. One sister was engaged while my other one was with her long term boyfriend. I felt so alone. You look at me the wrong way and I cried. WHen it was time for them to leave, I hug my mom and I lost it. I couldn't even hug my dad. Whenever I leave Florida, I cry. Like you said, they're only a plane ride and a phone call a way. The thing I miss now is my mom isn't up here while I plan the wedding. Once I find my dress, she'll come up here to buy. Hang in there.

Re: I THINK I AM THE SADDEST PERSON IN THE WORLD RIGHT NOW

Thanks girls. Dad's gone. They left yesterday afternoon. I was there as they pulled out of the driveway. I was really bad, I actually jumped in my car and pulled away so I was ahead of my dad and I blocked the road and wouldn't let him go. Eventually I did and when we came to the end of the block, I went one way and my dad went the other. I started hysterical crying in my car, I had to pull over, and I watched in my review mirrow as my dad drove out of sight. Thank god for tinted windows. I called my dad yeaterday and he was in Virginia, thats where they stopped for the night. I asked him if he was ready to come home yet. He said he was talking to my stepmom and he realized, this was it, there was no return trip this time. I don't think it has totally hit me yet. I kinda feel like he is on vacation, yet I know he is not around the corner anymore and he won't be ever again. When I spoke with him this evening they were at my stepbrothers house in North Carolina and they are staying there til Wednesday morning and then heading down to their new place to meet the movers!! I miss him a lot, but once I get a job and get back to being busy, It will be a lot easier. Now I just have to find a friggin job already!! So thats all on the dad front. My pops is gone, i'm really sad, but life goes on. Thank you everyone for your support. Lots of Hugs!!
