I think I found my reception site!!!!

I am so excited. Its been tough to find the right spot for a small reception (around 75 guests hopefully!). I think we finally found it at The Metropolitan in their Club Room downstairs. I saw their main rooms last week and liked them and fell in love today when I saw the Club Room. It was set for 80 for an event tonight and it didn't look like the room was empty or squished! It looked just right. Some of my biggest problems have been rooms that look empty b/c they would be too big or rooms that look squished and no room for a dance floor.

The pictures of cakes that are done in-house looked like they were right from the pages of Martha Stewart Weddings; I couldn't believe it. They looked like they used fondant (which I hate) but was actually buttercreme.

Its been so hard and so many sites turned us away and or told me via phone that their minimums are 100+ so it was exciting to find such a nice place with great atmosphere.

I just had to rave and share my excitement.

thats great. i know its hard to find a place w/a small minimum, most halls are 150+. if you are still on the market, chech out stewart manor country club, min. is 100, but they may be willing to lower it, they are extremely flexible. congrats on finding your hall and best of luck to you.

My reception minimum was 80 or 85 if you are interested.

Congrats!!! It is definately hard to do under 100. We only wanted around 60. That was a real killer. Though many place told me package min were for 100ppl but if we could still aford them... And why would I pay for 40 people that won't be there?

I've seen that place in magazines and it looks lovely.

FYI- if you are still going to look the George Washington Manor has a 75 minimum. I know how it feels to have to look for a smaller hall.

Congratulations! I, too, am having my wedding in the Club at Metropolitan. When I originally booked the place, we thought we would only have 70 guests. Now the list has grown somewhat, but we still think the Club will be perfect. It's a little art-deco, so it will definitely have a different feel compared to a more traditional-style hall. I will let you know how my reception turns out!

P.S. My sister went to the tasting with a friend who was looking at booking the Metropolitan, and she said the food was amazing!

Thanks everyone! As soon as I hear back from my priest about the ceremony I'll be booking there!

Nov04bride - I'd love to hear all about it after your reception. I love the style of the Club Room - its so different and has such a warm feel about it.
