I think I just lost my job...UPDATE: Manager just called
So I had a falling out with my manager today. He was in a bad mood and treating me like everything was my fault. He eventually, after hours of being an a s s h o l e, succeeded in making me cry. When I told him I just wanted to go home he told me to get out. So Im home now and not sure if he meant get out for good. But even if he didnt mean it that way, I still expect an apology before I go back there. Its hard to have so much pride when Im planning a wedding and already on a serious budget but I cant let someone treat me the way he did today. Im going to start looking for another waitressing job tomorrow and Im sure everything will be fine...thanks for letting me vent...it feels better to type it out...
UPDATE: So my manager just called basically apologizing and asking if Im coming back to work this week. If I didnt have this wedding I would tell him to s u c k a big one but I have too many deposits to pay so Ill be going back on Thursday Ugh

oh I'm really sorry...nobody should be brought to the point of crying by their boss
omg thats terrible that he treated you that way. noone deserves that! if he meant for good then he doesnt even realize what a good hard working person he lost

Thanks girls. It just ***** because I was making amazing money there. I know its just a waitressing job but the really good waitressing jobs come a dime a dozen. And this was a good one. If I werent planning this wedding, I wouldnt give a s h i t but now Im worried...

OMG I am sorry to hear that...it sounds like my day at work. I actually decided to give my notice in a few weeks because I can't take it anymore with all the stresses of work and planning a wedding. You definately need an apology from him before you return. Stand strong.....don't let anyone walk all over you.

Lexi, I just commented on your post too! I really so want an apology but when the money is so good I feel like just sucking it up ya know?? But Im not a child and I shouldnt have to suck it up this time. I hate managers with huge egos who hate their jobs ugh

You could always go to a 'higher up' especially if its a chain of ... Restaurants??? I had a manager talk down to me to the point where it was harassment or discrimination... I didn't think anybody would believe me if I said something, so I didn't for a long time. Finally when I did say something it turns out they would have actually listened to me, but she quit a week later. so my advice is take action if you can, but in the meantime look for a new job

It isnt a chain of restaurants. Its actually a really good restaurant/club in the city. I waitress there and work bottle service at the end of the nights. The funny thing is, Im friends with the manager. We used to work together back in 2002 when he was just a bartender. So he knows what it feels like to be spoken down to and then he goes and does this to me. And just because we were friends, I never took advantage of that. I was always there when they needed me. I worked days when I shouldnt have been working, I never got an attitude with them...this just feels like spit in my face.....I have to go back and pick up my money tomorrow so depending on what happens tomorrow, Ill either have my job or start looking for a new one ASAP...Im going to stay positive though...I have to
