The candy bar!! I haven't bought any candy...only have 10 jars and am freaking out thinking about the costs adding up before my eyes.

I did one and it was way more expensive than I expected! Plus it is just one more thing you have to worry about

if you honestly think that your guests wont miss it, then save yourself the headache, but if you are really leaning twds keeping it, then just hit up costco/bj's.. and pick up some economy size bags of candy. that should be able to hold you over~!

Ditto. Most of my candy is from BJs- I ordered novelty stuff like oversized lollipops and candy dots online.

I think it depends on how many guests you have + how big your containers are..the bigger they are the more $$ b/c most people will fill them up

I have all of my jars and scoops already also but it did add up to more than i expected also. I totally think its worth it because our families are totally candy junkies and i am using it as the favors

the candy def adds up ... i did a poll about this recently and most people paid about $500 total for the candy & jars.
If you want to keep it, maybe you could just have 3 or 4 diff candies / jars?

If your concerned about the cost but you really want it then do it on a smaller scale. Like AwaitingAugust suggested just do a few candies. the RH can decorate the table real nice to make it look full.

i think it also really depends on the type of candy you get. like if you want specific colors/types in bulk then it will probably be more expensive. but if you are flexible with the kinds and are willing to get assorted mixed candies then it might be more cost effective.
