A few months ago, I went to an all ages show with my brother to see some local punk bands and stuff (Jones Crusher, Endangered Feces, etc.). There was this band there called Corpsicle - they were really terrible but they had a gimmick that I found amusing. I had the best time at their show. Anyway, ever since then I've been sort of 'stalking' their website and stuff. I even went to one of their shows and met them and stuff. I don't know what is wrong with me - I'm sort of like obsessed about the whole thing - like I have an alter ego going on or something. I've never been star-struck over anyone, least of all a no-name band. You would think KISS signed my autograph book - I act like a giddy teenager when they email me stuff (show listings, just to chat, etc.). WHAT is wrong with me? Is it midlife? Am I having a nervous breakdown, what??? They are just kids (early 20's and stuff). I get such a kick out of the whole thing and of course husband thinks I'm weird and pathetic to be so interested in kiddie music. HELP!!!!

Re: I think I'm going through a midlife crisis...
Hey, it's all good! Enjoy yourself... there are worse things to be addicted to! I tend to get star struck myself... especially when it comes to music. I'll find one new CD and it will literally be playing in my CD player over and over and over... recently it's been the old White Stripes stuff!!
So don't feel bad about it. It will be great memories someday, have fun!!

Re: I think I'm going through a midlife crisis...
I guess you're right but I'm sort of worried I'm getting obsessed with the whole thing. I listen to their CD all the time and my niece is friends with the band, so I'm always asking what they are up to and when they are playing next. The last show that I went to, they were all in an uproar to find out who I was (there was a big mystery over who their favorite fan was). I approached one of them and offered to buy him a drink because I caused so much controversy on their website. Anyway it was a big joke for him to try and not 'reveal' me to the other band members all night, while making me uncomfortable in the crowd by coming over to me, teasing me, dedicating songs to my 'knickname' etc. They all got a kick out of it and finally I introduced myself and everyone was cool with it. But now husband is having a hissy, saying I'm emotionally cheating on him by getting a kick out of the whole thing. It's not like I'm interested in any of them, heck they're just kids. It's almost like I'm assuming a management role with them, encouraging them to sign up for more shows, put out better promotion and stuff. Totally not me.
