After much thought - I think it'd be wise to. We're still going to have our big entrance as husband & wife. However, from past brides, I hear getting the welcomes out of the way early will leave you more time to party and enjoy yourself & dance!! (which is what I really want to do).
If you think about it - it takes a long time to make it to every table. And then at the end of the night you're saying goodbye to everyone.
It just makes sense to me to go to cocktail hour- what are do you think?

We went and got a HUGE round of applause from our guests! Plus we were able to greet a lot of them and after my wedding one of my friends wrote me the nicest email with details of things she 'loved' about my wedding and going to the CH was one of them! We still made a grand entrance at the reception and didn't feel it was any less special.

I am definitely going to my cocktail hour! And I plan to say hello to as many people as possible! And I don't want to miss all that good food!

yup... thats what we did! it worked out great.. perfect time to get all the 'small talk' and greetings ot of the way. we still did the whole big intro thing, too... and then we spent the reception partying it up with our closest friends and actually got to eat dinner

One of the things I love about the Crescent is that we get to enjoy our cocktail hour food (and they make sure we eat our entress too). After the ceremony, they take us to the bridal suite for at least 20 mins so we can be alone and let everything sink in. They will bring samples of all of the food from our cocktail hour to the suite. That way we get to eat since I'm sure we will be bombarded by guests once we go to the cocktail hour.

I think that it's important to go to your CH. It's your wedding! Enjoy yourselves and don't let them stick you in that little room.

Well I went to my CH, and still spent half the night going around to every table, by the time we were 'done' it was 12 am and we really only had 1 1/2 to dance and get crazy with ourselves.

We are taking pictures before so that we can attend our cocktail our. There is no way I'm missing out on those little cheese cubes. No way. I just love those things.
