OK so this budget consious bride is freaking out!!!!!!!!!!!! you all know how i pride myself on keeping within my budget.....heres the story
I have been asking FH and his family for a guest list since December....i got it finally YESTERDAY!!! None of his family was invited to my shower because of this except for his mom and sister.......
so i went ahead and sent my invites......well all along i have said to him im sure your family wont be more than 20-30 people and he never said otherwise! HIS DAD GAVE HIM A LIST OF 60 PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!and we couldnt cut anyone out cause if 1 knows about it they mention it to the other and so on and so on
luckily about 20 are out of state but our budget was based on 150 showing up so lets hope thats what it comes out to or i am gonna go over my budget .....!!! and that means.....NO HM!!!!!!!!! i am a little sad right now sorry about another vent

did you ask fh how many he thinks will come since alot are from OOT and then even those that are near? hopefully you can still stay at 150 though, you also dont know who will say yes or no from your original guest list. Some will surprise you, trust me i am finding this out now its funny bc i know a good amount invited to the shower are coming...a few arent, dont know everyone who isnt coming but i know of a few and 2 are shocking and just found out today that my cousin who i grew up with and is a bm might not be able to make it, dont know why either. And she lives 10 minutes from me so not like she is oot or anything

well i know from my side i am only gonna have like 10-15 Nos cause 90% of my guests are local
he doesnt even know most of the people in his family they are not very close but we have to invite them......i just wish he wouldnt have waitied so long to give me the damn list!! But i told him if we go over its his fault not mine. im just sad that i might have t lose out on my HM but at least we are getting married ! lol

can you tell your IL's that if your FH doesnt even know these family members well if you really have to invite them...Or if they can put up money for a few of the guests bc you dont want to lose out on a HM and its not fair

the invites are already out and his parents cant afford to help...they are old and his mom is in a nursing home right now and medicaid hasnt picked up the tab yet......we will see hopefully they will think the way i am thinking and not come cause they havent seen him in so long......we will see soon enough. I am gonna have to talk to him this weekend about it again. We set aside at least 1 hour 1 day a week ( usually saturdays) to go over wedding stuff....ill bring it up then

Since you're getting married Memorial Weekend, maybe people will say no because they already have plans. I know a lot of people that go away for Memorial Weekend and wouldn't change their plans for anything!

well if they haven't seen him and they live far then its a good chance some won't come. Good luck

yeah i hear ya, some of the things we deal with during planning can drive you nuts. I am mad too but trying to just not think about it. Just dont worry about it and when you talk to FH on saturday you two can figure it out better then. Goodnight and feel better

i'm going through the same thing! i have asked FH for his side of the list so many times and he did give me names. But everytime i see FSIL she's like, oh make sure my brother invites so and so and so and so (basically ppl all over the world)! His answer is :just order more invites
