Right now, my hair is all blonde and quite long (for me anyway). Now, i don't want to cut my hair because I'm trying to do the long thing much to my dismay (I can barely ever get a brush thru this long hair ). Anyway, my sister is a hairdresser and I was thinking of having her lighten my hair on top (make it blonder than it already is) and then darken the underneath part. Nothing too dark, but darker than I've ever had it before (I've neve done anything but hi-light my hair and even then it's been blonde hi-lights). Does this make any sense? If it does... what do you think?? I know it's only hair which is why I'm leaning towards doing it, but I get a little nervous.... Opinions please!!!

i dont know if u use a specific brand.. but pick one u lik and then go to ur local beauty supply store and asked them for a single use packet of 'gray magic' ... its something u add to the dye it will make it look BLACK in the bottle but it doesnt come out black.. and it covers the gray GREAT!!.. its only about 60 cents... if u cant find it.. let me know ill mail it to u.

Can anyone recommend a good color in the box? I heard that the natural essence kind (I thnk thats what its called) is really bad for your hair...? Any thoughts?

Anyway... Kim... do it! The pics posted here look cool, and I think it would look nice on you. It's always fun to change your look, and since you said you don't want to cut your hair - go for it!

My sister, 'the hairdresser' has had her hair all different colors too. She did the same thing to her hair that I'm thinking of doing, only she did the dark part purple....
