I think that this is very insulting:

Original post by Gonnacatchapeacock

When someone sends a No response with NOTHING written anywhere about why they cannot attend.
I could never do that. I really think that it's very rude to just send back a card with a zero in the '___persons will attend' spot.

AND I'm still tracking down some RSVP's that are outstanding. A verbal (ie: telephone call) would suffice right now for those.

i didnt even realize this was etiquette til this site, and to be honest it wouldnt bother me... UNLESS they were close family/friends and then i would probably be speaking to them anyway, but i dont really care why my mom's work friend isnt there..

I actually didnt put a reason on my 'friends' because the truth was ...I just didnt want to go, i couldnt afford to travel that far...and I am not close with her so i didnt want to pay for a hotel' and i wouldnt want to WRITE that on there, so it would be a lie anyway, so whats the point??

i'm definitly in the minority on this one. i've never heard of writing an explanation as to why someone couldn't attend a wedding. i'd just be happy to get the rsvp back - jmo

Not in the minority. Until this site, I was one of those completely annoying guests that had no idea what proper etiquette was. Verbally telling people I'd come, etc. etc. I was a walking horror show!
