I always thought RD's were for the groomsmen, bridal party, their spouses, anyone from OOT, and immediate family.... no?

If she wants to think of you guys as 'half' of a couple, she shouldn't be surprised when you give her 'half' of a wedding gift.

WELL SAID!!!

You should tell her on her wedding day that her dress is ugly...or show up wearing white LOL...noooooo that's so bad

That would be AMAZING. Everyone knows that the RH includes at the minimum the wedding party, their dates, and immediate family. So to not invite a groomsman's date is first a breech of etiquette, and the fact that you're practically a member of the family makes it unthinkable.

But since you and she will be family, you'll have to be secretly subversive. Like you could 'accidentally' step on her train before the ceremony and leave a big ol' footpring. Oops!

that is so wrong...

I'm looking at it the other way, your FH should be PISSED bcause how dare they invite their BEST MAN without a guest???? I dont care if he was only dating someone. SO WRONG!

Sorry to crash your board girls, but I always love your threads!

Just wanted to say that many times the bride and groom cant afford to invite BP's dates to the RD. We're not, unless they are married. Etiquette does not say that the BP must be invited with their dates -- especially if they are not married or engaged. I've been in weddings where my FH wasnt invited to the RD but I was, and vice versa...its not a big deal and I dont think its necessarily meant to be rude or hurtful -- its just a matter of what is affordable and the atmosphere that the B&G want their RD to be (i.e.-- more intimate or larger).
BUT in this particular case, because you are future FAMILY and your FH is the groom's brother...you should definately be invited!!!! More than being p issed, I would be so hurt if they didnt invite me. Moreso, your FBIL should know better and your FH should be making a big stink about it. Your ILs should be questionning why you arent on the invite list too! This girl seems like she's got something against you

What is her real reason? It sounds as if she is really jealous of you. Especially since you thought you all were going to be a big happy family.

Girl u are wayyyyyyyyy better than me because I would've disinvited her with the quickness!

very well said!! that is VERY true about proper etiquette, gf's and bf's do NOT have to be invited BUT in this case a fiance a few months before becoming a wife. . . to the brother/best man of the groom!!!! it is ridiculous!

She sounds like a very selfish person. Unfortunately you can't get rid of her. You know what they say though? 'Kill 'em with kindness'
